Description & Details
Discover an exceptional lifelong collection of vintage powder compacts, vanity accessories and Art Deco treasures featuring hundreds of collectible examples from the early 1900s through the mid-century era.
Marcella's Museum contains compacts collected over 40 years by my mother, lMarcella Carlson of St. Paul, Minnesota. She carefully recorded each purchase as you see on the sheets of paper shown with most of the compacts. That information is for historical purposes. The collection started innocently enough after the death of her beloved husband, Dale. Mar was shopping at an Antique Show with her daughter and found a compact just like one Dale had given her while they were dating and that ignited a love of vintage and antique compacts and related items such as carry-alls, vanity items, and related items. It was her greatest hope that these compacts will find new homes where they will be treasured.
Please note that the inventory sheets shown in many auctions are from the time of purchase and are provided for historical value.
