Sadly, the DNR has scheduled this beautiful lake home for demolition this summer.  The land was seriously eroded during the 2012 floods that hit Duluth and the North Shore of Lake Superior to the point that it doesn’t meet the set back regulations. The owners have hired EOV to organize and conduct a sale of the personal property contents, and as much of the actual structure that is safely possible to remove.

The home is filled with true vintage, lodge style and shabby chic furnishings and decor. You'll particularly admire the long dining table and six matching high quality chairs from the Oak Grill Restaurant in the old Dayton’s department store in Minneapolis.  There's a long, redwood, antique Chinese bench, a hand painted folding screen and a nice McCoy pot on the second floor, and an antique Chinese bookcase on the first floor that are particularly pretty. And you'll love all the great area rugs throughout the home. There's old pottery including Roseville bookends, a collection of wooden boxes, great vintage art prints and frames, and lots of small tables, beds and dressers.

Check out the 2001 Lund boat, motor and trailer -- WOW!  We're partial to the vintage 1962 Crestliner aluminum boat and 35 hp Johnson Sea-Horse outboard motor and trailer. There's an equally old and large painted canvas row boat that we think would look fabulous as a statement piece hoisted up above one of the local bars!  Of course there are many fishing rods and reels, tackle boxes, charts and quality apparel for fishing and hunting. We love the red antique Champion Motors Co. boat motor, made in Minneapolis - it's screwed to the porch railing! Look for the camping gear and the Coleman Road Trip grill, too.

The kitchen is full of vintage utensils and dishes and there's a like-new commercial meat cutter. You'll find tools, hardware and building materials in the basement.  The upstairs has stacks of black ash boards that were to be used to finish the inside of this lake home. Every room has nice furniture and is decorated with stones, agates, shells and beach glass treasures from the lake and the ocean. Outside on the deck, you’ll find wrought iron furniture and a fabulous brass bell mounted on the front railing. There’s also a good Ago Allis yard tractor and lots of lawn and garden tools and supplies.

In terms of the structure itself, you can purchase the light fixtures, cabinets, siding, decking, windows and patio doors! We'll sell the furnace and water heater and, the electrical services.  If it’s safe to remove, you can buy it!  It all has to go!

There are just a few items that will be marked NOT FOR SALE and we'll mention most of them here:

  • Items on and in the outhouse
  • The wheelbarrow under the house
  • The Toro lawn mower under the house
  • The blue water pressure tank in the basement
  • Plants, bushes, landscaping, rocks in and around the property

We require that you do the work of removing large items or building components that you have purchased (anything that requires tools for removal) after 4:00 pm when the sale closes each day.

Please see one of our associates to schedule a time. You must bring your own tools, helpers and transportation. For insurance reasons, our crew members are not allowed to assist you.
