CATALOG TEXT BELOW:
- Early American 18th Century Spinning Wheel This is a complete and original, signed example of an early American spinning wheel, estimated to be made between ca. 1770-1825. The maker used primitive tools to handcraft each wooden part, and the wrought iron nails and parts are all hand-forged by the same maker, or a Blacksmith. Although most collectors or enthusiasts would use this well preserved piece of American Folk Art as a display, this working/fully functional antiquity could still be used to create textiles today. The side is clearly marked "DRS" (or could be "D&S"), which is common for skillful craftsmen to do in the late-18th or early-19th century. It has it's original Bird Cage, Treadle, Iron Pump Rod, Spinner, and Wheel- this antique is 100% original. This is the finest early American spinning wheel we have ever seen, it is truly a museum quality relic. We have not put a lot of time and research into this piece, although we have had this on display for quite some time. Similar examples have sold for thousands, but there is a very low reserve. In the case that it does not sell, there will be another opportunity within the next couple months as it will be in our Spring Antique Gallery Auction. Stay tuned as there will be a plethora of early American antiques, including a desirable collection of worldly clocks, early furniture, and much more.

a - Ancient European Excavated Artifacts A nice group of [5] authentic excavated ancient relics and artifacts, forged from mostly bronze, but may also have some silver, brass, or copper made items. These were excavated in the 1970's through the 1980's in Austria, Germany, Italy, and Russia. These relics mostly date back to Neolithic civilization, Early Bronze Age up to the Roman Empire, ca. 3000 B.C. - 4th century A.D. Some of the relics include: intricate etched bronze bell pendant or charm with intact suspension loop; a near perfect bronze suspension loop in the form of a cross with large connecting link. This could be part of a necklace, a pendant, or an ornate piece used on something of ancient daily life; a silver or lead applique, shaped almost like a bird with intricate design or written language in the center. May have been a belt link?; a flat squared plate of bronze with an "X" connecting in the center, which may be from a piece of armour or applique; and a early bronze relic that is thought to be a Celtic axehead pendant.

- Ancient European Excavated Artifacts A nice group of [5] authentic excavated ancient relics and artifacts, forged from mostly bronze, but may also have some silver, brass, or copper made items. These were excavated in the 1970's through the 1980's in Austria, Germany, Italy, and Russia. 3 - Ancient European Excavated Artifacts A nice group of [6] authentic excavated ancient relics and artifacts, forged from mostly bronze, but may also have some silver, brass, or copper made items. These were excavated in the 1970's through the 1980's in Austria, Germany, Italy, and Russia. These relics mostly date back to Neolithic civilization, Early Bronze Age up to the Roman Empire, ca. 3000 B.C. - 4th century A.D. Some of the relics include: a very unique and intricate bronze bell pendant or charm with intact suspension loop. The pendant is geometric in shape on all sides with a protruding relief on the bottom that appears to be a leaf motif; a bronze Roman Period fibula brooch (missing pin on back); a hand forged bronze nail or tack (intact/well preserved); a bronze buckle; a squared bronze suspendion loop or possibly a small handle of an object; and a round bronze ring, possibly "proto-currency" or "pre-currency".

- Roman Era Ancient Bronze Arrow Tips A lot of [2] authentic ancient Roman Period bronze arrow tips, both in very good/well preserved condition. These relics were excavated in the 1970's through the 1980's in Central Italy. These hand forged bronze artifacts were used in battle and also for hunting game, ca. 1st century B.C. - 4th century A.D.

- Chinese Warring States Bronze Spear This is an ancient handmade/forged Chinese spear, which is a intact bronze spearhead and a long portion of the tail, from "Warring States" period, Qin dynasty, ca. 259 B.C. - 210 B.C.

- Ancient - Medieval Bronze Artifact This is an ancient to Medieval period, cast and hand forged bronze excavated artifact found in Southern Russia, not far from China. It is very heavy for its size, and appears intact/complete, although there may have been a head protruding (if it was of a figural peacock), including a thick suspension loop for hanging and a spiked lobe that amazingly still remains on the backside. It may have been used as a pendant and brooch, and/or used for applique decoration on armor, or some type of furniture. This relic is very well preserved and has intricate details.

- Ancient Excavated Gold Turquoise Pendant A very rare, hand dug jewelry artifact (complete/intact) with a round light blue turquoise sphere suspended of intricate solid gold or gold gilded (The owner did not specify) over brass, copper, or bronze wire. This magnificent piece of ancient jewelry is truly a work of art, aged of antiquity. We believe it’s a heavy gold gilt and are selling as gilded metal, as we are not comfortable scratch testing this very old piece. However, once the buyer pays for the relic, we would be more than happy to carefully test the item with the consent of the winning bidder, if desired. The owner did not elaborate on the exact location or region of excavation, however, the other relics were excavated in the 1970's through the 1980's in Austria, Germany, Italy, and Russia. The majority of the relics date back to Neolithic civilization, Early Bronze Age up to the Roman Empire, ca. 3000 B.C. - 4th century A.D.

- Rare 50's Walt Disney Chapter Brass Trophy Possibly One of a Kind, this is a solid brass bell-shaped presentation item, made by Balfour with the original vintage sticker on bottom. The top is etch engraved, "WALT DISNEY CHAPTER" and just below reads, " Presented By The Werner Buerke Family". This is the last item left from a massive Walt Disney collection that was compiled from the 1940's until the early 2000's. Unfortunetly, the original owners of this estate collection passed away and the family does not know the history and/or story behind any of the pieces. This peticuliar item has been very hard for us to find another example or even anything remotely comparible. It appears to be intact/complete, and is in very good condition. We believe this is a Walt Disney Chapter presentation trophy, possibly awarded at a large charity. One thing can be said, the owners of this collection did have very rare, valuable, and even One of a Kind Disney pieces. Here is your chance to own a vintage WD mystery item.

- Large Crystalline Flambe Vase, c.1911 A large and very beautiful, early-20th century multi colored flambe glaze crystalline vase with [2] small handles, marked "L27" and dated "1911". Approximately 12" H x 8" W.

a - VERY RARE Lemon Variegated Art Glass Vase c.1885 This extremely rare Czech/Bohemian, hand painted & blown art glass vase was either created by Moser or Loetz (the Marmoriertes line), around ca.1885, but William Webb, Welz, and Steven & Williams are also Victorian Period glass companies that produced similar vases during the same glass movement. That said, early Moser is the most likely canidate as they're lemon-yellow variegated (yellow & white splatter or marbling) glass vase examples are nearly exact in vase form, style of painting, and technique (Moriage-style piping). Regardless, this is an extremely rare hand-painted and handblown variegated cased art glass vase, from the mid-1880's. Very similar examples have sold in auction for thousands of dollars, and are shown in Museums. CONDITION: There is some small loss of paint, which is to be expected, but is the majority is bright and vivid. There is a small crack in the convex area of the neck, however, this is very hard to spot unless searching. The thin polished rim and ground pontil bottom are both perfect (NO cracks, breaks, or damage of any kind). THIS IS A VERY RARE OPPORTUNITY!

b - Imperial Slag Candlewick Bon Bon Dish A semi-rare, vintage carmel swirl slag glass Candlewick heart-shaped Bon Bon candy dish, made by Imperial. Pristine condition.

- Exquisit Figural Scene Porcelain Vase WOW! This is an extremely intricate cloisonne style enameled porcelain, four-sided vase with finely detailed painted, Medieval or Renaissance, figural scenes on each side. Each side of the vase has a different scene, mostly with a woman and child. The squared top lip has been warranted in gold, and the bottom is marked/signed with Chinese characters in a double outline (done in blue paint or enamel).

- Avem Murano Zanfirico Millefiori Glass Dish A unique, vintage Avem Murano Zanfirico Millefiori hand blown Art Glass dish, transluscent/clear cased with silver fleck. Measures 7.5" x 7.5" x 3". Circa, 1950's-60's.

- Murano Zebratti Seguso Spiral Optical Bowl A Rare and absolutely stunning Italian Murano Art Glass bowl, squared rim, gold Aventurine spiral optical glass, thick clear cased glass, Zebratti Seguso. Measures 5.75" x 5.75" x 3.5". Circa, 1950's-60's.

- 1950's-60's Murano Ruby Aventurine Dish A large, beautiful heart-shaped Italian Murano hand blown glass dish, ruby over gold adventurine (on top), black amethyst cased glass bottom. Circa, 1950's-60's. Measures 9.5" x 10.5" x 4".

- Dino Marten Avem Tutti Frutti Murano This is a magnificent piece of Murano art glass by or attributed by Dino Martens of Arte Vetraria Muranese (AVEM). A MAGNIFICENT EXPLOSION OF SWIRLING KALEIDOSCOPIC COLORS! The attributes suggesting that this piece is a Martens design include the use of the Millifiore ("thousand flowers") and Sommerso ("submerged") techniques to produce a swirling explosion of color, the folded sides in a flower petal look, the use of silver flakes, the creamy white glass underside encased in clear glass, the four clear glass extentions from the underside and the ground and polished base and pontil.

a - Spectacular MCM Color Swirl Murano Glass A rare, oddly clover shaped art glass dish with a variety of masterful techniques. A swirl of multi colors, perfectly spaced silver fleck formation, multi cased with black amethyst bottom.

b - Heavy Mid-Century Italian Murano Glass Dish A very heavy Italian Murano art glass dish, modernistic sculptural bowl, clear cased and vibrant pink glass. Measurements: Stands 4" H x 6.25" W.

c - Heavy Modernistic Murano Art Glass Bowl A very unique and rare form, a triangular shape with squared edges. Clear cased and vibrant ruby to pink in color. Measurements: 7.25" x 8.25"

- MCM Murano Teardrop Art Glass Sculpture A Mid-Century Modernistic Murano Italian Art Glass Sculpture. Most likely a Sommerso creation, teardrop shaped, contemporary sculpture with an applied outer layer of beautiful amber glass, cased in clear with specifically placed gorgeous green hue, and gold adventurine swirl designed center. Sculptures like these are much less common then the Murano glass vessels/bowls/centerpieces, and fetch very high prices.

- Chinese Ritual Tripod Wine Vessel, Jue A very old and rare, Archaic gilded ritual tripod wine vessel, Jue. This Jue is rare in construction as it appears to have been casted from iron and other alloys, it stands on tripod legs formed like broad blades, stemming from the lower egg-shaped vessel. There is a single handle, C-shaped with a bovine mask and cast with two vertical flanges with pictorials or masks between flanges on side walls. Described best as historical Chinese art, this vessel is covered in an extensive encrustation from age and still has traces of original gilt that remain. Because of the encrustation and heavy multi-colored patina, it is hard to make out the actual casted design, but appear to have relief of mask. Described from a reputable online source, the Jue is one of numerous forms that were produced for diverse functions; in this case it was designed to be used for wine, although for a more ritual than secular function.

- 19thC Gothic Griffin Cast Iron Candle Holder This is not the typical reproduction example usually seen, you are bidding on a 19th century (or older) cast iron gothic winged griffin/gargoyle candle stick holder. Shows the hand forged riveted nail that connects the casted iron pieces into one. The most noticeable attribute, and what helps date this antique is the top, candle holder portion- it was created in sections much like rose pedals. There is wear on that portion, as seen, but can still firmly hold a candle. There was also a repair at the tail, in otherwise good condition with a patination of aged antiquity.

- RARE Solid Silver Enameled SIAM Jewelry Set A stunning 3-piece set collection of early-20th century, enameled solid silver SIAM jewelry with beautiful dancing figural etchings. The collection consists of matching brooch, finger ring, and a symetrical graduating sized pendant set (without necklace or links). Very valuable and extremely hard to find all three available and not split up. These were handmade prior to Siam becoming Thialand, pre-1930's. Ring Size: 8

- North Fork Mono Cali Indian Paint Pots A small collection of Native American Indian paint pigment pots, authentic finds found near the foothills of California, that once belonged to the Mono Tribe Indians- ca. pre-1000 AD. The North Fork Mono tribe are Western Mono Indians, whose traditional homeland is in the southern Sierra Nevada foothills of California. The Mono language is part of the Uto-Aztecan language family. When one of these pots/mortars are rubbed with a damp finger you get a beautiful residue of natural color pigment. Most of the stones were found by the Mono with natural craters and then used, slowly wearing down and smoothing out a place for a finger or brush. A total of [5] authentic Western Mono Indians paint pots in this lot.

- Ancient Pre-Columbian Figural Pottery Shard An authentic ancient handcrafted human face (effigy) figural pottery shard from an early Mesoamerican civilization, ca. 300 AD - 1200 AD. From a large collection of authentic Native American Pre-Columbian pottery and artifacts. The figural face has great detail, a headdress, fine lines running through the hair, protruding mouth, and large spaced holes in the ears. At one point this ancient shard may have had a portion of the body, like a bust. However, it most likely did not because most human effigy artifacts found made of stone and/or pottery, with a flat backside, is of the head and/or the head and bust (they were meant to lay flat on the back). This artifact shows darkend patina on specific relief areas due to the oils from the hands of the culture who made this, and aged oxidization. There is also slight earthen deposits. There is only a small amount of loss around the nose and the ear on one side, and this damage is from many years ago. When this artifact was found there may have been a label added to the back as usually the person excavating leaves a documentation in the form of a reference number, there is a small amount of this old label still on the back side. The majority of this amazing collection has some type of reference number on each artifact. If these ancient figural pottery shards do well, the condignor will add more. Guaranteed to be from atleast 1200 AD, or older.

- Western Mono Indian Paint Pots/Mortars A small collection of Native American Indian paint pigment pots, authentic finds found near the foothills of California, that once belonged to the Mono Tribe Indians- ca. pre-1000 AD. The North Fork Mono tribe are Western Mono Indians, whose traditional homeland is in the southern Sierra Nevada foothills of California. The Mono language is part of the Uto-Aztecan language family. 56 - Western Mono Indian Paint Pots & Stone Bead A small collection of Native American Indian paint pigment pots and a hand drilled stone bead, authentic finds found near the foothills of California, that once belonged to the Mono Tribe Indians- ca. pre-1000 AD. A total of [4] authentic Western Mono Indians paint pots and [1] drilled pendant bead made of rock.

- Ancient Pre-Columbian Human Pottery Effigy An authentic ancient handcrafted human (effigy) figural pottery shard from an early Mesoamerican civilization, ca. 300 AD - 1200 AD. From a large collection of authentic Native American, Pre-Columbian pottery and artifacts. This figural pottery shard shows intense detail, a headdress, protruding hook nose and mouth, olive shaped indentions for the eyes, and a large circular decoration on one ear (At some point, many years ago, there was loss to the other ear and other parts of this figure). The backside is flat and was meant to be layed on it's back on a flat surface. This effigy idol, or figural artifact, may have been depicted as a female as there is a protruding convex area on one side, the opposite side appears to may have had a breast as there is some loss, but still some symetrical reminisce left where the other breast and arm would have been. There is some traces of paint left, some areas of light and dark patina, and natural earthen deposits. Guaranteed to be from atleast 1200 AD, or older.

- Capitalism And Antislavery by Seymour Drescher The age of British abolitionism came into consolidated strength in 1787-88 with the first mass campaign against the slave trade and ended just half a century later in 1838 with a mass petition movement against Negro Apprenticeship. Drescher focuses on this critical fifty-year period, when the people of the Empire effectively pressured and eventually altered national policy. Presenting a major reassessment of the roots, nature, and significance of Britain's successful struggle against slavery, he illuminates a novel turn in the history of antislavery, when for the first time, the most effective agents in the abolition process were non-slave masses, including working men and women. This not only set Britain off from ancient Rome, medieval western Europe, and early modern Russia, but, in scale and duration, it distinguished Britain from its 19th-century continental European counterparts as well. Viewing British abolitionism against the backdrop of larger national and international events, this provocative study challenges readers to look anew at the politics of slavery and social change in a prominent era of British history.

- Asian Drama (Vol. 1-3 Hardback) by Gunnar Myrdal Asian Drama (Vol. 1-3 Harback set) by Gunnar Myrdal. "Professor Myrdal began with a hopeful view of the possibilities for rational planning and ordered growth in the underdeveloped countries; in the course of his work he has come to a somber realization of the difficulties they must surmount and the need for a reappraisal of the theories basic to their planning efforts. He is understandably reluctant to admit how largely thinking about the underdeveloped countries has been shaped and influenced by his own studies; yet unless one realizes this, the achievement of the present volume is not fully weighted. For Professor Myrdal had not only to move against accepted premises and assumptions; what was more difficult, he had to move against those premises which he had himself done so much to establish and to make seem self-evident. Burke says somewhere that there is no vested interest so powerful as the vested interest in an idea. When the idea is of one's own making, the efforts required to transcend it may be nothing less than heroic.
