Lower Level: A life-size polychrome man has been in the family for many years. He was living in an old warehouse on Franklin Avenue in 1936 when our client's family purchased the building for their barber supply business. He became a prominent spokesperson for the family business, and they named him "Waldo." In the 1950's, a startled police officer walking the warehouse beat accidentally shot his fingers off. Waldo moved with the family throughout the years, losing his left foot at one time. Eventually, he was moved from the barber chair to the family dining chair where he still sits today. He has been a part of the family for over 90 years but does not wish to make the move to Kansas City--he prefers to stay in in St. Louis. He will be homeless soon. The next photo shows a close-up of his face. Lower Level: Waldo is looking very sly in his derby hat.Lower Level: Here is another photo of Waldo next to a small humpback trunk.
