The Wheeler era was a boom period for Kansas City development with the 1972 opening of the Kansas City International Airport, the construction of Kemper Arena, Bartle Hall and the Truman Sports Complex event facilities as well as Worlds of Fun and Crown Center. The Cristo Wrapped Walk Ways project in Loose Park was toward the end of Wheeler’s term as Mayor.

“Sorting through the assortment has been like a walk through recent history. Wheeler was a friend and fan of Harry Truman, thus we have signed Truman items, not to mention other collectibles for sale.
