Description & Details

This auction features approximately 190 lots from the personal collection of Timothy Kelly, including 68 firearms and approximately 120 lots of military memorabilia, bayonets, swords, knives, helmets, insignia, ammunition and related items.

Timothy began collecting firearms in 2012, initially focusing on firearms for personal protection and hunting. As he researched different models, his interests expanded into military firearms and the history behind their development. He became particularly interested in the craftsmanship and technological progression of military weapons from the Civil War through the Vietnam War era.

As Timothy explains, “The more I learned, the more I became interested.” His personal favorites include the M1 Garand, Springfield M1A rifles chambered in .308, and British .303 military rifles. These interests are reflected throughout the auction, which includes American and international military firearms spanning several periods of military history.

Leading firearms include multiple Springfield, Winchester and Harrington & Richardson M1 Garands; Springfield M1A rifles; an Inland M1 Carbine; a 1944 Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I (T) sniper rifle with scope and wooden transit chest; a Mauser Model 1930 Broomhandle pistol; and a Bulgarian Arsenal SLR-106U AK-pattern pistol.

Additional firearms include a Sharps & Hankins Model 1862 Civil War carbine, Japanese Arisaka Type 38 Cavalry Carbine, Walther P38 pistol, Lee-Enfield No. 5 Mk I Jungle Carbine, military bolt-action rifles and other semiautomatic firearms.

The military memorabilia portion includes U.S. and international edged weapons, a 1918 L.F. & C. Mark I trench knife, a Mason/Sheffield Civil War Bowie knife, German spike helmets, military dress swords, field equipment and insignia. Additional lots include ammunition and firearm-related accessories.
