Interesting Things Around Every Corner at Kansas City's Thursday Night Auction!
Some weeks have one or two big-ticket items that grab everyone's attention. Other weeks, like this one, offer something just as enjoyable: a room full of interesting things waiting to be discovered. We've posted more than 1,000 preview pictures for Thursday's auction, and if you take the time to look through them, you'll understand what we mean. There's an extraordinary variety of merchandise this week, with surprises around practically every corner.
Collectors of vintage advertising will find plenty to explore, including a great assortment of old beer trays, signs, advertising pieces, and Kansas City-related memorabilia. There's also an interesting selection of militaria, knives, bayonets, older tools, and assorted historical pieces. Add vintage license plates, unusual primitives, and other pieces of Americana, and there's plenty to keep collectors looking.
The vintage toys and games deserve some attention this week, too. Barbie dolls and accessories, older dolls, diecast vehicles, model kits, board games, and assorted childhood favorites share space with sports cards, baseball memorabilia, autographs, magazines, books, and ephemera. We also have watches, jewelry, small collectibles, and an assortment of things that don't fit neatly into any one category.
There's plenty for the vintage electronics crowd, including stereo equipment, receivers, radios, turntables, cameras, older computer equipment, and more. Around the room you'll also find furniture, artwork, prints, pottery, glass, porcelain, china, cast iron, lamps and lighting, textiles, rugs, and decorative pieces. Tools, hardware, household merchandise, seasonal decorations, and all sorts of useful and unusual things round out the mix.
One of the things we've always enjoyed about this auction is that you never really know what you'll find. You might come looking for something specific and leave with something you never knew existed. That's part of the fun, and this week's auction offers plenty of opportunities to do exactly that.
Take a look through the preview pictures at atakc.com, and come spend Thursday evening with us. Whether you're a collector, reseller, decorator, or just someone who enjoys looking through interesting old things, you're welcome here. Never been to an auction? Come see what it's all about. It's a fun night out, and there's no charge to attend.
