It is our privilege to sell the Jack Barclay estate of St. Joseph, Missouri along with Dr. Arthur Elman estate of Kansas City. Both gentleman were true collectors and had accumulated homes filled with fine antiques and collectibles. The auction will consist of an unbelievable variety of items such as artwork including 18th century oil paintings, a Mary Cassatt etching, a Wayne Thiebaud lithograph, a Frank Stella lithograph, Bob Byerley original oil paintings as well as other important art. Furniture will be highlighted by an outstanding American tiger maple highboy chest. Mr. Barclay had amassed a premier collection of American brilliant period cut glass consisting of over 150 pieces of truly rare and exceptional examples. Additionally, he had collected over 175 Lladro and Cybis figures along with Steuben, Swarovski and Lalique glass. Asian antiques will be represented by several pieces of Chinese porcelain, Satsuma, bronze Buddhas, scrolls, tankas and other. Silver includes a set of English silver flatware, a collection of English Georgian silver caudle cups, three sterling tea sets plus more. Further expanding on the variety of this auction there are 15 bronze figures with eight being Dave McGary’s Native American bronzes, others by Gus Shafer, and Joe Beeler. To round out the auction there will be nearly 50 pieces of estate jewelry with the highlight being a Van Cleef & Arpels 3.95 carat round diamond ring. Complementing that ring will be an exception aquamarine ring, a blue diamond pendant, several diamond rings and bracelets, pearls, Baum & Mercier diamond watch, Man’s Omega Flightmaster watch, Native American silver and turquoise jewelry plus more, Needless to say, this is auction that you will want to attend!
