The sale date is coming!  The sale listing is included in the photos - at least for what we have ready to sell as of today.  A photograph of another item added has been included in the photos - a large, oak "barrister bookcase" said to have come from the office of an early St. Joseph Barrister.  Take a look.  

This Life Season Change Sale offers you a once in a lifetime chance to acquire furnishings from a collection of items which have occupied a historic home in St. Joseph, Missouri.  Please join us Friday, October 18th & Saturday, October 19th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at the home to make something beautiful from the collection your own.  Every piece in this home was hand-picked for its details and beautiful craftsmanship. This sale includes many more items than what are pictured.  Nothing offered is new, and age has brought minor blemishes.  There will be a few pieces with more than minor blemishes - projects for the real DIY restorer.

Many pieces of furniture are Victorian Era pieces made of walnut. There are some contemporary pieces and some other antique styles and woods. 

From Bookcases to Parlor Chairs and Settees, an 1865 Square Grand Pianomultiple Antique Wardrobes and Beds and Dressers, Tables from Small to Large, and contemporary sofas, it is likely that you can find something to take home and love.

We will not be able to help load large items, so please make sure to bring your own braun (or other helpers) if you will need loading help.

Genuine Leather Sofa with Craftsman style detailing in oak.  Very gently used to watch others playing pool in the Sun Room.  This is not antique but is a convincing reproduction of a Craftsman piece - and less age.  (The trunk is not being sold.)Victorian "His and Hers" chairs.  Antique in walnut.  Some wear on the upholstery.  (And yes, his has the smaller seat because he wasn't wearing a bustle on his skirt.)Barrister Bookcase Oak; 93" tall, 49" wide, 25 1/2" deep.  Antique Oak and Iron Baker Rack / Table.  Picture 1 of 3 which show the conversion from Rack to Table.   These are not seen very often.  When bread was baked, a baker would lay it on the table, then when cool, would turn the table upward creating shelves holding the bread to be sold.Picture 2 of 3 - shifting to a table.Picture 3 of 3.  The Table.Antique Side Board.  Beautiful Detail.  Was once leased for use on the set of "The Quick and the Dead." Marble is stamped Wichita, Kansas.  Brought to Missouri from Arizona.  Rough Dimensions: 55 in. wide X 88 in. high x 22 in. deep.Lined drawer of Sideboard.Antique Walnut Side Chairs with needlepoint seats.  Set of 6.  Some need repair.  3-Piece Antique Victorian Parlor Settee, Walnut.  Recently re-upholstered.Walnut Parlor Table/Desk with Drawer and Shelf.  Original finish on wood and original hardware.  Blotter on top was replaced long ago.  Purchased in St. Joseph, Missouri at Carbry family sale, at 1 Carbry Place.Antique Frame and Print.  1865 Decker Brothers Piano - New York - Serial Number 2165.   Bought in Oregon, Missouri from a local family who were the second owners.  Cabinet is still in original finish.  Works need attention.  Will include a book on how to restore a grand piano for the realy DIY personality.Turtle Top Table with White Marble. Marble is cracked as shown, but table is still sturdy, usable, unique and gorgeous.  Walnut or rosewood.Antique Walnut Round Parlor Table. Rough Dimensions: 24.5 in. radius x 30 in. tall.3-Piece Antique Victorian Parlor Chair Set.  Walnut.Set of 2 - Antique Chairs from the Doniphan County Courthouse when Troy was in the wild west.  Just like you see in the saloon on Gunsmoke.  Also have 4 from the Buchanan County Courthouse.Underside of a chair from the Doniphan County Courthouse.  1970s Teak Side Cabinet or Dresser with Marble Top.  Shipped by the Buyer back to the States from Asia.  Matches Teak Bar that is pictured following.   1970s Teak Wood Bar with Marble Top.  Needs slight repair.  Teak Bar interior storage.  Antique Victorian Rocker - Walnut - with Full Body Upholstery.   This one needs some repair and refinishing.Antique Walnut Wardrobe with Two Bottom Drawers (matching door fronts are in the drawers).  This one does not break down. Antique Walnut Wardrobe.  One interior side has shelves, the other side is for hanging items.  This one does not break down.Antique Walnut Wardrobe with Two Bottom Drawers from Western North Carolina. This piece can be taken apart for ease of moving.Antique Walnut Wardrobe with long-ago built in shelving.  This one does not break down. Antique Empire Style Chest of Drawers found in St. Louis, Missouri. Condition is nearly excellent.  All drawers are functional.  The drawer pulls have wooden threading.  Antique Walnut Gate Leg Table shown with both leaves down.   Antique Walnut Gate Leg Table. Shown with one leaf raised and on leg. Antique Chair - Queen Anne styling but likely a mid-century reproduction. Oak Craftsman Style Rocker.  Many a child has been rocked to sleep in this.Antique Walnut Wash Stand.  All drawers are functional.Walnut Bookcase with Drawers.  The glass appears to be aged, maybe original. This piece came from the estate of Ida Pinger, Troy, Kansas.
