My client is the second owner of this 1953-built home in the Holly Hills neighborhood.   The home  is totally vintage, and he decorated it in the Mid-Century Modern period with high quality furnishings.  Check out the room-by-room descriptions below and be sure to see each photo and its detailed description.  You are going to be in awe!

Living Room:  This is an overview of the fabulous Mid-Century Modern living room.  The client is the second owner of this 1953-built house and many of the furnishings are original to the home.  Closer photos of each item and its details follow.Living Room:  These Mid-Century Modern chairs are fabulous!!!  These are by KARPEN of CALIFORNIA and were recently custom upholstered.  The striped seat cushions are detached.  The seat width is 35," while the back height is 39."   Check out these same chairs on "1st Dibs"--you will be amazed! Living Room:  One more photo... the back side of the Mid-Century Modern KARPEN of CALIFORNIA chair.Living Room:  A view of the living room to the front door reveals another view of the KARPEN of CALIFORNIA chairs as well as a  Mid-Century Modern REMBRANDT light fixture and a LANE cabinet. Living Room:  The  Mid-Century Modern REMBRANDT hanging lamp is teak/walnut and brass.  The three white frosted glass shades are each 11" tall and are entwined in the three 20" tall wooden scrolls.  Just put a couple of hooks in your ceiling, hang the chain, plug it in, and you have instant COOL!Living Room:  The Mid-Century Modern REMBRANDT table lamp is one of a priced pair.   These lamps are original to the 1953-built home and were there when my client (second person to own the home) bought it.  The base and stem are brass and the organically shaped suspended sculpture is made of cast metal.  Each measures 39" tall to the finial.  Note:  The shades appear to have a vintage cover over the original shade.  The next photo shows the lamp without the shade on it. Living Room:  This is the REMBRANDT sculptural table lamp without its original glass shade but without its paper shade.  Living Room:  This Mid-Century Modern Italian turquoise blue glass table is one of a priced pair.  These tables are original to the 1953-built home and were there when my client (second person to own the home) bought it.  Each table has square brass legs and measures 19-l/2" square x 16" tall.  Living Room:  The Mid-Century Modern LANE coffee table is part of the "Perception" line with sculptural boomerang legs.  It measures 70" wide x 18" deep x 13" tall and has one drawer, as shown.Living Room:  The custom upholstered  Mid-Century Modern-style sofa is 87" wide with a 29" high back.  It has a single bench detached cushion, three detached back cushions, and two side pillows.  Notice the flared sides and raised legs.Living Room:  The sofa is now shown with two striped bolster pillows at each end. They match the seat cushions of the KARPEN mid-century chairs but are priced separately.  Living Room:  The two-tone blue "shag" rug measures  5' 2" x  7' 7."Living Room:  This signed art is quite interesting with vivid turquoise and gold colors.  The scene is painted on a wood insert but surrounded with a linen-look mat and gold block design frame.  It measures 57" wide x 25" tall.  The next photo shows the artist's signature.Living Room:  Shown is the artist's signature of the large mid-century piece that hangs above the sofa.Living Room: These Mid-Century Modern pink plaster Asian dancers are 17-l/2" tall and are priced as a pair.Living Room:  A Mid-Century Modern LANE sideboard is also from the "Perception" line.  It has three drawers on the left and two doors on the right which hide two interior shelves.  It measures 48" wide x 18" deep x 30" tall.  Living Room:  More Mid-Century Modern:  A pole lamp with three lights under the cylinder shade is to the left of another LANE cabinet.   Closer photos of the cabinet and TV lamp follow.  Living Room:  This Mid-Century Modern LANE cabinet is also from the "Perception" line.  It has two doors with two interior shelves.  It measures 36" wide x 19" deep x 30-l/2" tall.Living Room:  The 1950's Asian-scene ceramic lamp shows two children sitting in a tree.  The metal Venetian blind shade is an unusual green.Living Room:  A pair of Asian bust wall plaques are just darling for any room in the house!Living Room:  "Ole!"  The vintage bullfighting scene with the matador and bull is replicated in the two-piece ceramic figure set just below it.  Living Room:  A brick peninsula separates the living room from the dining room.  A vintage pink  BELL telephone (not the kind you carry in your pocket) with a rotary dial is to the left of various vintage pink ceramic decor.  The double glass/gold frame wall hanging lying down is actually for sale--it just covers the planter box for now.Living Room:  See?  It will NOT fit in your pocket or purse. This phone may remember the old telephone exchanges [associated with central offices] and the ever annoying party lines!Dining Area:  The Mid-Century Modern dining table as shown measures 40" x 62" but includes three 12" leaves and pads.  The mid-century chairs are priced separately from the table.Dining Area: This is a closer photo of the Mid-Century Modern table's outline.   (Note:  the client has decided to keep the vase.)Dining Area:  This is one of the set of four Mid-Century Modern chairs.  A photo of the back side follows.  There are two arm chairs and two side chairs.  Dining Area: This is a back view of the Mid-Century Modern arm chair.Dining Area:  A walnut Mid-Century Modern "American of Martinsville" sideboard has three drawers with louvered fronts (see next photo for close-up) on the left as well as three more drawers and two shelves behind the two flat panel cabinet doors on the right (as shown in an upcoming photo).  It measures 60" wide x 18-l/2" deep x 30" tall and matches the nearby display credenza.  The lamp is flanked by two sets of Dorothy Thorpe-style glasses.Dining Area:  This is a closer photo of the louvered drawers on the Mid-Century Modern "American of Martinsville" sideboard.Dining Area:  The Mid-Century Modern sideboard  now has its right doors open to reveal the two interior shelves and three drawers. Dining Area:   Another fabulous Mid-Century Modern sculptural lamp.... this one is black with white veins and has two  original fiberglass lamp shades.   The next photo is a close-up of the base.Dining Area:  The white veins and brass support of the sculptural lamp are better shown.Dining Area:  A Mid-Century Modern "American of Martinsville" display credenza is flanked by two Mid-Century Modern (Danish) side chairs.  It displays several pieces of 1950's "Franciscan - Atomic Oasis" earthenware and mid-century modern glass and ceramics.  The display credenza has two sliding glass doors above two left flat cabinet doors [with two interior shelves], open shelves and four louvered front drawers on the right.  It measures 50" wide x 18" deep x 58" tall.Dining Area:  The 1950's FRANCISCAN "Atomic Oasis" china includes:  one platter, four dinner plates, four salad plates, four dessert plates, four cereal bowls, two cups, four saucers, and a set of salt & pepper shakers.   It is priced out (not priced as a set).Dining Area:  This is a closer photo of the 1950's "Atomic Oasis" china pattern.  This china is in very good condition.Dining Area:  This is one of two Mid-Century Modern (Danish) chairs.Dining Area:  Shown is the back side of the Mid-Century Modern (Danish) chair. WESTLOX  clock is period.Bedroom: The four-poster queen size bed includes the headboard, foot board, and side rails.  The EILEEN FISCHER bed linens, toss pillow,  and mattress set are priced separately from the bed.  Closer photos of the bed, R-WAY side chests and lamps follow.Bedroom:  Now you can see the foot board and legs of the four-poster queen size bed.Bedroom:  The detail on the four bed posts is stunning!Bedroom:  The queen mattress set is by CORSICANA.Bedroom:  A pair of R-WAY side chests with one drawer each and two shelves match the 5-drawer chest previously shown.  The chests are priced as a pair. Each has a glass protective top and measures 20" wide x 15" deep x 20" tall.  The vintage Flamenco lamp is one of a pair.  Closer photos follow.  Bedroom:  This is a closer photo of one of the vintage Flamenco dancer lamps. Each leaf gets independently attached to the wall.  (A light bulb is behind each leaf.)  You can hang it in a straight line or angled line before you attached the ceiling chain and plug it in!Bathroom:  While the bathroom is not for sale, we wanted you to see how its 1953 design continues with the architecture of this home.  A closer photo of the fair of flamingos that are for sale is coming up.Bathroom:  The vintage pink ceramic flamingos are priced as a pair.Bathroom:  Asian figures are displayed on the sink.  The two small ones in the front are shelf sitters.Bathroom:  This vintage wall set is so cute.  I think my mother had them in our bathroom, too--but ours were pink and black.Kitchen:  A 1950's kitchen set has a yellow/black top (a closer photo follows) and four floral chairs. The three upper white cabinets on the left are actually the 1953 refrigerator!  No, none of the built-ins are for sale.  It all stays with the house and its lucky new owner.  But, all of the items displayed on the counter-tops are for sale.Kitchen:  More kitchenware!Kitchen:  A closer view of newer crock pots and vintage dishes (including Fire King and Pyrex). Including a red PAULA DEEN stock pot; a LeCreuset oval pan; vintage VISIONS cookware; and a large pottery bowl/lid.Kitchen:  Vintage aluminum-clad stainless steel FARBERWARE cookware includes the large frying pan/lid; a 3-piece steamer; and a 3-piece 10-quart pasta maker.  Also shown is a vintage WEAR-EVER aluminum cone colander and pressure cooker.Kitchen:  Vintage tins are so appropriate in this kitchen.Kitchen:  The vintage CHEF clock oversees the entire kitchen!  It is electric (the cord is plugged in to a void in the wall).Kitchen:  Ceramic dishes, Pyrex, a black SUNBEAM electric coffee pot, a 3-piece black granite ware canning pot, a roaster, and more are all for sale!Kitchen:  A vintage yellow top/chrome table with hair pin legs is for sale.
