Al's Estate Sales
Description & Details
This is probably the most anticipated sale we have ever had. We are expecting huge numbers to attend this sale. This is a fairly large square footage house and we expect to allow several people in when we first open. However, when the house becomes full inside, we expect there to be a wait. So, please be prepared for a possible line at any time during the weekend.
First of all, a little bit about the estate family. . . they both had active full time careers and had no children. Therefore, they obviously had nothing to spend their money on other than themselves. They obviously enjoyed material things and loved collecting. They both passed away suddenly within a short time of each other. Both of them collected different things, and they were both very serious with their collections. First of all, lets start with the clothing. The pictures don't show it very well, but on sale day, the dozens and dozens of racks of clothing will be spaced out within the garage, under the patio overhang and throughout the backyard. Many of these pieces of clothing go back to the 70's/80's and still contain the original tags. There is a fantastic variety of toys dating back to the 50's with many of them being original boxes. The seasonal items including all seasons, are in fantastic condition and also date back to the 50's and 60's with many in original packaging. When it comes to the seasonal items, there is a plethora of seasonal decor that will have some great pricing on it. There is just so, so, so much seasonal decorations that it is mind blowing. A popular attraction to this sale will be the several pieces of various "POPCORN" decor (pictures # 95-98).
Now for what will be the biggest highlight of this sale . . . the St. Louis Blues collection. He was a career NHL official. He spent his entire NHL career working the St. Louis Blues games. He was an off-ice official and most of his work was the penalty box time keeper. You avid Blues fans will recognize him in some of the photos you will see throughout the house and even on items listed in this posting. We have several blown up pictures that have become poster size of group photos of all of the NHL officials from major events such as The Winter Classic, The Frozen Four and other events held at our St. Louis various venues (the Arena, Kiel Center, Savvis Center). Pictures 166 & 167 show some of his NHL clothing, some which is still new with tags and includes Michael Kors suitcoats with the NHL logo on it. We also have other NHL apparel including ties. The boxes and totes full of paper products are piled high and include "Goal Magazines" which go back to the old Arena, media guides from many decades, and press release books that had very rare printings. The Blues stadium give-aways are ridiculous but plentiful. There are dozens and dozens of rally towels, Thermo cups, S.G.A. coffee cups, dozens of posters and lots of other rare paper items including things like press passes, ticket stubs and all kinds of great memorabilia. We are talking about a whole Blues history of collectibles.
There are also some great memorabilia items from other events that took place in these buildings throughout the years including some Vipers memorabilia and other various tournament type events.
Now for the rest of the house. . . there is no way to cover it all but I will hit on some of the highlights. She was obviously an avid collector of Tiffany style lamps. Each one is beautiful in its own way. The glassware, china sets, cup and sauce sets and vases are never ending. The Brewania is plentiful throughout the house. We have TV's. stereo equipment, clocks and time pieces, figurines, knick knacks and some fantastic kitchenware. And we haven't even begun to talk about the furniture. But the pictures all speak for themselves.
This truly is a big one folks. The nice sized house barely holds everything in and we need to thin it out. The house is spacious, the patio cover is huge, the backyard is oversized and all of that is jam packed. The weather is expected to be fantastic and this promises to be one big event.
Please note the later times for this sale. Also, the discount days will be off a little bit because of this holiday weekend.
