• What a SPECTACULAR piece! This is a genuine Showato made in Kamakura by Tenshozan Sword Works, the oldest and most revered military sword maker in Japan until all arms manufacturing was banned by the terms of the unconditional surrender of Japan at the cessation of WWII. Though essentially the Samurai pattern sword, this blade was hand forged and tempered by master craftsmen of high nickel content steel (now stainless steel) for sea duty, eliminating the need for frequent polishing. This war trophy sword comes with its Certificates from Adjutant General Sec. 8th Army, authorizing its return to the United States, and permission to retain this sword in billet or quarters while serving in Japan.
