The home was originally built by Oxford brick maker Dave Kennedy. The house survived the Civil War unhurt and was eventually sold in 1877 to Mr. Huldric Price. Price had served with the Lamar Rifles during the war. In 1897 the Prices renovated the home to include an addition to the rear of the house.
