Description & Details
We are honored that Paul Buckley has commissioned us to sell his wonderful paintings and home items.
PLEASE READ BELOW
Paul Buckley states that he was raised in captivity in rural Oktibbeha County. Before he escaped, he had never been in an art gallery or museum. Paul quickly developed a chameleonic, ostentatious, pretentiousness, that seemed to exist without reason or accountability, giving him new myths to live by. Paul has redefined the meaning of Primitive Random Abstract Art. He has pushed the boundaries of modern methodology into a particular and discrete element separated by biology, mythology, and confusion. Paul remains like a distant star whose light has not yet reached earth.
Paul graduated from Starkville High School and attended Mississippi State University. He moved to New Orleans where he worked as a paint shader, beginning his interest in color mixing and color theory.
After a while, Paul returned to Mississippi State where he obtained a degree in Agronomy and then worked for USDA for 40 years.
Paul’s interest in the arts developed rapidly after graduating from high school when he began to explore multiple genres of art, music, literature, and film. Paul began painting and making assemblage sculptures in 1975 and has continued since then. Paul has commissioned several pieces of art.
He has exhibited and sold his work locally at City Bagel, Restaurant Tyler, Bin 612, Starkville Area Arts Council exhibits and the juried show at Cotton District Arts Festival, and Boardtown Garden Center. Through connections with friends, family, community, and the university, there are owners of Paul’s work in at least 12 US states, and internationally in Germany, Canada, Ivory Coast, Mexico, and Myranmar
