Terms

First come, first served. The first person to arrive with the intention of staying until the sale starts is #1, and starts the list. The second person to arrive with the intention of staying puts his/her name on "the list", and is #2, and so on. You don't have to stand on the sidewalk - you can sit in your car- but if you put your name on the list and leave, you will lose your spot. Line up according to the list at about 7:50, and the sale will start at 8 a.m.

We accept cash, checks and credit cards with proper id. Tag sale items are for the most part either vintage/used; they are sold "as is", and cannot be returned. No previews or early sales. We try to keep plenty of packing paper and boxes on hand for our buyers. Please bring help to load furniture. Purchases must be picked up by the end of the sale, unless other arrangements are made with us. Neither we nor the homeowner will be held responsible for accidents. The entrance to the home is steep and you must WATCH YOUR STEP. By coming on the property and entering the premises, you are agreeing that you have been made aware that you must watch your step, and that neither we nor the homeowner will be held responsible for accidents. Well-behaved children are ALWAYS welcome at our sales. Silver and jewelry are held off-site until the morning of the sale. ADDITIONAL SECURITY WILL BE PRESENT DURING SALE HOURS>

We are happy to be hosting a wonderful tag sale in Carrboro March 7-8.  Sale hours Saturday are 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., Sunday 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.    This weekend is Daylight Savings Time "Spring Forward", so be sure to adjust your clocks!  

 

Tag Sale Fanatics.... what a fun, interesting sale we have in store for you!   Take a look at the photos and make your plans to come both days (prices are firm on day one, negotiable on day two).    Not everything in the sale has been photographed, so there are hidden treasures. 

 

Here's a sampling of the items available.

 

  • Important art photography examples by NC artist Caroline Vaughan (her work has been featured in exhibitions, galleries, museums, and was the subject of the book Borrowed Time:  The Photographs of Caroline Vaughan (Duke Press, 1996).  One of the photographs was owned by Reynolds Price, and was returned to Ms. Vaughan in his will.  Subjects include flowers (a platinum print called Tulips), a series of photos of raging fire, and female nudes, among others.
  • High-end cook's tools from the restaurant kitchen of Margaret "Migret" Middleton, the "Maggie" of Carrboro's beloved Maggie's Muffins.  Several All-Clad pans, Le Creuset stoneware, a Kitchen-Aid Professional 6 stand mixer, Waring Professional blender, Commercial milkshake mixer, French Mauviel roasting pan, etc.  The kitchen is packed full of fantastic finds!
  • Books books books,  including a BIG collection of cookbooks (thirty boxes' worth), books on religion, gardening, art, bicycling, etc. etc.
  • folk art - Clyde Jones critters, two unique Clyde Jones chairs, hand crafted walking sticks
  • jewelry, including a ladies' Rolex watch, Tiffany gold star bracelet, and more not pictured.  Jewelry held offsite until sale day.   Additional security will be onsite during the sale.  
  • stunning vintage hats, some with original boxes
  • a pottery collection assembled over thirty years, including a Burlon Craig snake jug, Ben Owen Master Potter pieces, Ben Owen III pottery, Sally Bowen Prange, Jane Peiser and other Penland artists
  • Art: Duke University signed etching by Louis Orr, original watercolor by Mormon artist Joseph Alma Freestone Everett (Utah), original acrylic on board by Nathaniel Quinn, framed antique hand colored engraved maps of Great Britain & Ireland, Austria, and others, RARE Piegan Native American print, framed Cycles Gladiator poster, original framed Disney cel from the 1940 movie Fantasia, plus more!
  • Furniture and furnishings:  beautiful sleigh bed, large arts and crafts style china cabinet, 1970s Parson's table, 1970s round mirror-topped table, lamps, etc.
  • many good Persian carpets / oriental rugs
  • interesting vintage, including Coca Cola and Grapette signs.
