Great Estate Sale in Cary's Lochmere Neighborhood - THURSDAY update
estate sale•2 day sale •sale is over
8am to 3pm
12pm to 3pm
We accept cash, good checks, and major credit cards with proper ID.
All items are sold "as is", with no returns.
We are not responsible for accidents occurring on or around the premises. Enter at your own risk.
Well behaved children under their parents' supervision are always welcome at our sales.
YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN HELP FOR LOADING FURNITURE AND LARGE PURCHASES.
For folks who are new, here's some basic tag sale etiquette. Entry into the tag sale is organized by a list. At our sales, the list is started by the first person who arrives with the intention to stay until numbers are handed out. As people arrive, they put their names on the list, then should remain in the area or sit in their cars until numbers are handed out. You don't have to stand on the porch all night - you can sit in your car - but putting your name on the list and then leaving is a no-no. You must be there when numbers are handed out, or you lose your spot. Once you have a number (given out at 7), you can go have coffee, go garage saling, etc., and return to line up at about ten till 8.
We are happy to be having a nice estate sale in Cary's Lochmere neighborhood on Saturday, Sept. 7 and Sunday, Sept. 8.
The contents were the property of a physician and life-long learner, whose hobbies included gourmet cooking, wine collecting, and photography. He bought "the best", often in multiples.
We are amazed at the overall fine quality of the items in this sale.
If cooking is your passion - if you love to have the best kitchen equipment - if Williams Sonoma is your favorite store at the mall - this is a sale you shouldn't miss. We have lots of gourmet cookware - all the best brands.
In all of my (many) years of either shopping at, helping with, or running estate sales, I have NEVER seen an estate sale with a cookware or tool collection like this one in terms of quality + quantity.
At some point we'll count them all, but let's just say if All Clad made it, it's probably here waiting for you on Sept. 7. There are pots, pans, dutch ovens, braisers, roasters and baking pans...an All Clad slow cooker, All Clad waffle iron, All Clad immersion blender.... Some were purchased and never used.
There are top-notch knives (Wusthof and Cutco) and many Le Creuset pans (again, some never used). Two beautiful high-end Boos cutting boards, still new in the package. Two Precision Induction Cooktops, with accessory set. Two NuWave ovens. KitchenAid microwave, four-slot toaster, hand blender with attachments, food processor, and hand mixers. Many expensive utensils, including multiple Cutco kitchen shears. Huge cookbook collection, too.
Going from food to wine - there are two high-end tall Transtherm refrigerated wine cellars in the garage, plus another Transtherm glass-front wine storage unit in the house. We have a set of Riedel wine glasses - new, unused.
Check the photos for an idea of the nice furniture in the house. There's a beautiful silver chest from White Furniture of Mebane, two beautiful Hickory Furniture dropleaf Pembroke side tables, Hekman Copley Place collection mahogany side table and coffee table - yew border, swirl mahogany inset, marquetry inlay. Leading the seating offerings is a fine quality Hancock and Moore leather sofa with nailhead trim; there are also two Barcoloungers and a fine leather chair. Upstairs is a beautiful White Furniture company poster bed with side tables, chest, dresser and mirror.
We have two Herman Miller Aeron chairs.
Great quality lamps in this house, from makers such as Baldwin and Wildwood. They are heavy and well made.
As far as the miscellaneous category is concerned, so far the highlights are: three Montblanc pens, four pairs (yes you read that right, four pairs) of Zeiss binoculars, a stellar quality Zeiss scope, two Bausch & Lomb scopes, a Bose Wave radio, vintage telescope, several hunting knives (Cutco, Case, Buck brands), Sharp projector.
There's a large quantity of better men's clothing (Pendleton, Woolrich, Joseph A. Banks, etc.). It is tough to show the amount we have in photos. We counted 100+ shirts that are unworn, new in package! There are two Joseph Banks leather jackets, numerous fine heavy wool coats, two camel-hair jackets (one w/tags), a set of Gore-Tex fishing hip waders from Simms of Boseman, Montana. Also Tilley hats and Woolrich gloves (new in package). Clothing sizes are mostly L and XL.
This is a great chance to pick up some really good quality NEW clothing at a great price. These would make great Christmas gifts, too.
There's some vintage ladies' clothing, including a fur coat, fur stole, and a few sparkly special occasion dresses.
Lots of luggage, including a nice three-pc. set from Joseph Banks w/tags.
Garage full of high-end tools and equipment: Honda Commercial quality lawn mower (originally cost $1200+), top quality Craftsman tools, a few Snap-On tools. See photos. An impressive tool collection made up of the best quality/quantity is in the garage.
Four good quality large filing cabinets, several smaller filing cabinets.
Three vacuum cleaners. Lots of unopened cleaning supplies (Swiffer, Lysol, Chlorox, etc.).
Many music cds and dvds; these items will be priced at $2/each on Saturday, with unopened boxed sets priced higher. There's also a large amount of educational dvds and cds in "The Great Courses" series from The Teaching Company.
COME EARLY if you have your heart set on something.
THURSDAY UPDATE: items added or found: men's Burberrys' lined overcoat (we think it is either M or L - can't find tag), Sharp xg-NV3XB home projector, vintage sofa & side chair w/Asian bird print, crystal decanters, Kenmore refrigerator, Kenmore freezer, Jenn-Air grill, men's dress shoes (size 9 - Johnston & Murphy, Florsheim, etc.), Oscar de la Renta tuxedo (sz. M or L) .
