You don't want to miss this fabulous MID CENTURY MODERN / ARTIST LOVERS estate sale in Chapel Hill.
GLORIA ROBERTS received an excellent art education and is a graduate of Penn State University, with a Master of Fine Arts from Maryland College of Fine Arts. She also studied at the Art Students League in New York, where her work received a number of prestigious awards. Roberts has had a long list of successful gallery exhibitions throughout the U.S. Europe, including The Duke Museum Special Exhibitions, the Jack Davidson Gallery, Palm Beach, Florida, and the Soho Center of Fine Arts in New York. In addition to this very brief list of her gallery credits, her work is part of numerous corporate and private collections. According to her artist's statement, Ms. Roberts states: "I rarely start a painting or a sculpture with a firm or premeditated idea. Instead, my paintings and sculptures take shape in a steady steam of creativity. There is an inspirational dialogue between myself and my materials, as if the forms and color were speaking to me. Freeing my mind is what I am after: I am not influenced by art that has been created in the past. Only in breaking new ground. Consequently, I am known for the multi-faceted qualities of what I create. The uniqueness of each piece make me feel good, as I hope it does for those people who collect my art."
Gloria's original art includes:
Japanese Haiku inspired sculptures
Aborigine inspired sculptures
Acrylic on canvas
Mixed Media

VINCENT DADDIEGO was born in Greenwich Village, New York, and received his art education in Venice, Italy and at the Brooklyn Museum School of Art and Hunter College in New York. His life-long pursuit of originality and excellence in art has resulted in a long list of gallery exhibitions, throughout the U.S. and in Italy, Spain, and Asia. Locally, Vincent's work was represented by the Fine Arts Gallery in Chapel Hill and the Little Gallery in Raleigh. Abroad, his exhibitions included The Barnaba Gallery in Venice, Italy, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Barcelona. Vincent's artist's statement is as follows: "If there is one thing in the world that should be exciting it is the creation of art. Not only for the artist, but for the people who collect that art. My work is very varied, which is the way I create excitement for myself as an artist--from traditional paintings and sculpture to cutting edge modern. However, when I begin a collection I think about a certain audience for that work, not because I need to sell that work, but rather because I want those collectors to feel a definite connection with the artist.I want them to actually feel the colors and shapes and forms. This way we're both happy.
