Description & Details

Please save the dates - Saturday, February 25 and Sunday, February 26 - for a truly special event.

We are honored to host a tag sale in the Durham home of American historian John Hope Franklin (1915-2009)  and his wife of sixty years,  Aurelia Whittington Franklin (d. 1999).

We will be celebrating his legacy as an historian, educator,  trailblazing researcher and author, civil rights icon, recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and so much more .

To learn more about his life,  read http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/26/us/26franklin.html?action=click&contentCollection=Week%20in%20Review&module=RelatedCoverage®ion=EndOfArticle&pgtype=article

There are many, many books in this sale.

Please park politely, making sure the neighbors' driveways are clear, and that there's enough room for an emergency vehicle to pass.

Another suggestion is to use Uber or Lyft to get here, in order to avoid having to find a place to park.

We are expecting a larger crowd than usual, and the odds are that there will probably be a bit of a wait to get into the house.   We will allow people in as quickly as possible.

Please bear with us while we keep the tag sale safe, pleasant and dignified.

Thanks as always to our shoppers and clients.
