Description & Details
🏡 From Plain to Pow: The Colonial Crafter’s Secret Stash – Greensboro, NC 🏡
You’d never guess what’s hiding behind this unassuming little house… but we’re about to blow your tricorn hat off.
Our latest adventure takes us deep into the world of hand-rubbed finishes, governor-approved antiques, and one woman’s epic devotion to all things Early American. She was a collector, a creator, a hostess with the mostest (seriously—
she cooked for entire squads of first responders), and now her legacy is up for grabs.
This place is a treasure map come to life—just with better lighting and way more cookware.
🍽 Dinner Party Royalty:
She didn’t host dinners—she produced them.
China & glassware by: Royal Staffordshire, Haviland, Nippon, Pfaltzgraff, Blue Willow, International, Lusterware
Cook’s essentials: Henckels, Pampered Chef, Calphalon, Ginsu (yep, that Ginsu), Corningware, Pyrex, Fire King, Duncan Hines
Appliances by: Mr. Coffee, Cuisinart, Black & Decker, Oster
Major players: Frigidaire and Maytag
🪑 Sit Like a Founding Father:
Antiques? Check. Handcrafted reproductions? Absolutely. Furniture good enough for the Governor’s Mansion? Yep, she lent them a few pieces.
Brands include Morganton, Hancock & Moore, Michigan Chair
Plus true-blue 18th-century vibes in every corner (minus the powdered wigs)
🛠 Tools, Timber, and Trim:
Outside? It’s not a shed—it’s a woodworker’s paradise.
Power tools by Craftsman, Black & Decker, Task Force, Portland
Antique blacksmith-forged tools, hay saws, broad axes, and farm finds
Architectural wood, decorative trim, and the kind of barn finds Pinterest weeps for
🖼 Collectibles That Tell a Story:
Fenton, Wexford, Longchamp Ruby Red
Baldwin Brass, Virginia Metalcrafters
Toleware, lithographs, antique books, stoneware, NC pottery, primitives, and antique photos so hauntingly beautiful they practically narrate Ken Burns documentaries
🌿 Outdoor Pantry + Porch Life:
Outdoor pantry packed with surprises
Concrete yard décor, vintage outdoor furniture, and extras for your next garden party or Halloween tableau
🧭 Trail Conditions:
Yes, the house is humble. No, you are not prepared.
Take your time, bring your patience, and maybe a wagon. There’s a lot to dig through and even more to love.
This sale is part museum, part barn pick, part colonial comeback story.
And now? It’s your turn to play curator.
🕰 Come for the Governor-approved furniture. Stay for the spongeware and stoneware. Leave with stories.
