Our clients are relocating from their palatial Raleigh home, leaving antique, high-end, and practical furnishings to be sold.  

 

We've now arrived at the Sunday sale (HOURS:  12 p.m.- 3 p.m.).   Gate opens at 11:50; please line up in order of arrival.  Whoever arrives first and is staying makes the list.  If you sign your name and leave, you lose your spot.

 

Sunday discounts:   all items $30 and under are 1/2 price.  Items over $30 are 20% off.  We will negotiate on some of the larger items.  

The price of the statue is now $7,500, plus the clients will cover the cost of local shipping to Raleigh/Durham area.

Home furnishings still available include: a beautiful Italian Bombay chest,  large partner's office desk made by Sligh of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Eastlake side table, 19th century Chinese rosewood side chair with marble inlay, large Chinese jardiniere,  king-sized brass bed, Thomasville hunt table, nice glass-topped Italian glass-topped table, lamps, vintage desk in bedroom, plus more.  There's a set of vintage Mid-Century Modern chairs purchased in the early 1960s from a Siler City manufacturer.  

 

Rugs include a large room-sized Persian rug (hand-knotted wool), plus several others.  

 

Art:  Vintage paintings, an antique Robert E. Lee engraving, and many framed museum posters and prints.

 

Household items:  collection of large Royal Doulton Toby jugs, trio of Dickens character toby jugs by Kingston Pottery of England, paperweight collection, an assortment of Hartmann fine luggage, lots of interesting small decorative items bought in travels around the world

 

 Selection of better men's cl0thing.

 

Porcelain and china:   LARGE collection of Mottahedeh "Blue Canton" china, mint condition, fantastic!!!   Also Mottahedeh pieces in other patterns.  Lots of glassware, crystal and casual barware.   Serving pieces including two large covered servers from a set  of high-end Bernardaud Limoges china in the Chateaubriand Blue pattern.   Nice 1950s Boehm "Holly" pitcher with matching eggnog cups.  

 

Cookbook collection in the kitchen.  

 

Sterling:  large sterling flatware set , Lunt Mignonette pattern; also steak knives in that pattern, plus some serving pieces.  A Michelsen Danish sterling Christmas spoons.   Other small sterling items (Tiffany).   Lots of silverplated serving dishes, pitchers, chafing dishes, all in nearly-new condition.

 

In addition to furniture and household items, there are some gardening and greenhouse items left in this sale.

 

Still remaining is a large Italian marble statue - a replica of the statue of Emperor Hadrian's servant Antinous from Rome's Capitoline Museum.

 

The statue was commissioned by the owners from the Raffaello Romanelli studio in Florence, Italy, in 1989-1990 at a cost of $25,000.   We are now asking $7,500; please contact us for additional photos or more information.   Special arrangements to move the statue must be made, and it must be moved prior to October 15
