Description & Details
The Knives of Paul B. Clifford
Thirty custom and collectible knives from the collection of Paul B. Clifford, a longtime antiques collector who turned his eye to high-end blades in his later years. The catalog spans fixed blades and folders from respected American and international makers: two Harry Morseth hunting knives with Brusletto Norway blades, a Mitch Jenkins dagger with mammoth ivory scales, a W.E. Ankrom Wilderness knife, two Wally Hayes damascus tantos, a Randall Made Model 7, and Master Smith pieces by Jay Hendrickson and Tim Hancock. Bowie knives by Ray Beers and F. Wichelhaus sit alongside Nordic puukkos by Karlsson and Pasi Hurttila, a Fred Ott hand-forged damascus blade, and a striking Axelsson Morgan knife with fossil walrus ivory handle and sterling silver finial. Several lots come with original tooled leather sheaths and makers' marks on the blade.
Folders round out the sale, including a Benchmade Mel Pardue Design prototype (number 27 of 50), a Miller Bros. stag-handled folder, a C.R.K.T. Ken Onion Swindle first-production piece, and several Camillus yachtsman knives. Bidding is open now on all thirty lots. Starting Saturday, November 14 at 6:00 PM Eastern, the lots close one at a time in lot-number order, each on its own one-minute clock. Ships nationwide.
ONLINE TIMED AUCTION — LOTS BEGIN CLOSING SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2026 AT 6PM EST
This is an online timed auction: no livestream and no auctioneer. Bid at GRANITEUNIONAUCTION.COM — bid the next step, or set a maximum and we bid for you up to it. Bidding opens Monday, October 26, 2026 at 12AM EDT. Lots begin closing Saturday, November 14, 2026 at 6PM EST, one at a time in lot-number order, starting with lot 001. Each lot gets a one-minute clock when its turn comes. Every bid that raises the price adds up to 15 seconds, but the clock never goes above one minute. A lot nobody bids on still gets its full minute. When the clock runs out, the lot is sold to the high bidder, or passes if nobody bid or the reserve was not met. The next lot starts closing 1.5 seconds later, and the last lot closing ends the sale. The lot that is closing is shown in the NOW CLOSING bar at the bottom of the auction page. There are no outbid alerts for the lot that is closing, so keep an eye on the bar. Some lots have a reserve, a confidential minimum the bidding must reach before the lot can sell. Until it does, the lot shows “Reserve not met” and the current bid shows the leading maximum in full. Once a maximum passes the reserve, the current bid jumps to the reserve. A lot that never reaches its reserve passes (doesn’t sell). With 30 lots, closing takes at least 31 minutes, so the last lot closes no earlier than 6:31 PM EST. Bids that extend the clock make it later.
