       We are back.  Time and Again has been brought out of retirement to work with Robert McCook on one more auction.  And what an auction its going to be.  This Absolute, No reserve sale will be highlighted by the Estate of Ella Mae Dembrowski, late widow of famed  wine collector, Andrew Baron Dembrowski.  Over 250 lots will be up for bid from this Bernardsville/Mannehawkin  New Jersey estate.  Over 100 bronzes , serigraphs and original signed works by Erte, [ Romain De Tirtoff ].  This Russian born French artist and designer was referred as “The Father of Art Deco”.   His fashion designs, graphic art and jewelry became the standard for film, theater, opera and interior design during the early 20th century.  Born in 1892 his works have received wide acclaim throughout the decades.  His stylized “Ladies” of the Deco period are easily recognizable to all art aficionados.  His earliest sculptures date back to when he was 15 years old back in 1907.  By 1915 he started his career at Harper’s Bazaar magazine which launched his career as a premier costume designer and stage set producer.  He designed over 200 Harper’s Bazaar illustration covers.    Some of his most famous design sets included the Ziegfeld Follies of the 1920’s and 30’s.

              Part of this estate will be offered Leroy Neiman silk screens and serigraphs as well as an original signed watercolor sketch [Can-Am Mount Tremblant] by the artist.  Bronzes by Hiro Yamagata, Charles Bragg, paintings by Lillian Shao, Baccarat bronze mounted glass vase, “Flight of Love” signed by Erte.  Another bronze and crystal Sevres vase signed by Erte called, “Visage De Femme”.   Also offered will be an extensive collection of Asian pieces including 2 silver and enameled jeweled rickshaws, cloisonné, and jade, hard stone and coral trees.   One of the special highlights of her collection being put up on the block a  relief caste patina bronze plaque, “Woman with Tambourine III” designed by Pierre Auguste Renoir with detailed provenance accompanying the sculpture. A Neo-Gothic bronze archway will also be offered.    Included from the Dembrowski estate will be an assorted collection of jewelry, Persian carpets and other assorted items.

     We are selling the George Dress Asian porcelain collection.  Mr. Dress resident of Linden for 47 years.  Over 300 pieces of turquoise and blanc du chine porcelain.  A collection he carefully gathered for over 50 years.  This will not be available for online bidding along with 450 other lots.  Please preview the sale.

                 Other Highlights of the sale will include a signed FDR book, a large sculpture of a gypsy girl by Louis Hottot, bronze and marble sculptures,  sterling silverware sets, Lighting from 19th-21stc, Sevres, Meissen porcelains, Lladro, hand made silk kimonos, cut glass, Royal Crown Derby, Horse saddle, Persian silver, silk and wool carpets, Painting by Andre Gisson from Park ave contents, Artist Proof and lithographs by Itzchak Tarkay, Chinese porcelain from a Central Park West collection.  The sale will also feature an extensive collection of silver and gold jewelry, amber, turquoise, diamonds, sapphires and more including over 300 late 19th early 20thc Asian porcelains to be sold without reserve. 

All property being offered at the sale comes from various estates and collections in the New York Tri-state area.  All lots are absolute and  to be sold without reserve.

   The sale will be viewable on-line June 8th up until day of sale on Saturday June 29th.
