Why not start your Memorial day Weekend with this sale literally just minutes from the Pt. Pleasant beach!! This ;beach; house is full of amazing old real wood furniture ( some would call them antiques!) as well as some great vintage clothes We;have started working thereand the treasures are neat; There is an amazing 1950's Mohair ashes of roses matching 3pc. living room set that is vintage ; There is also a 1960;s color console TV that still works!.Speaking of TVs there is a 1930's(?) Stromberg-Carlson TV (Serial # 396767 )in this amazing cabinet! We plugged it in and fired it up and the tube lit up and the buttons changed the brightness, vertical and horizontal holds- since TV is no longer free and this isn't hooked up tp any antenna or cable there was no picture!! Searched the internet and couldn't find another one like it!!!.I unearthed a box of costume jewelry (only shot a few pics out of time!)!-and a triple set of pearls with the appraisal with them. There is a lot of old dressers and tables and a lot of stuff piled in the garage. (We are still tackling these!) What I fell in love with are these two pieces that were in this ladies beauty shop when it opened in the 1950s They are pink and chrome and one was a small chest that I assume they used to hold their curlers and stuff. and the other is a long low cabinet of some sort. The vintage clothes are amazing!! There is her 1940s wedding gown ( with the hoop slip!), a Herbert Sodheim Black brocade dress with 3/4 sleeves that would have done Jackie O proud, a Stunning Frank Starr beaded cocktail dress that would make a stunning prom gown- ( no one else would be wearing your dress!!!) several Cashmere sweaters, pleated skirts, several little black dresses . She was a Ballroom dancer and there are two of her ballroom gowns; They are amazing with the twirly skirts!! (See pics!) There are 4 singer sewing machines all in cabinets that chronicle Singer thru the years. There is this amazing cabinet machine that actually lifts the machine out of it's nest with a chain driven mechanism that kicks in when you open the arm- never saw anything like it!!; I have unearthed and posted photos of the myriad of cool things this house is hiding!!! Photos of jewelry will be posted tomorrow (wed) night. Hope to see you there!
