THE GALLERY, STUDIO AND HOME OF ANDREA (DREW) BACIGALUPA AND WIFE ELLEN WILLIAMS BACIGALUPA
Perhaps best known as the sculptor of the life-size bronze 'Saint Francis and The Prairie Dog', which stands at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Marcy Street in Santa Fe, Drew completed many commissions for churches in the Southwest, maintained a gallery of his work, and published many books, short stories and Santa Fe New Mexican columns. Drew was named a Santa Fe Living Treasure in 2008 and received a 2007 Mayor's Recognition Award for Excellence in the Arts. Drew passed away in 2015 and his wife Ellen passed away in 2018.
The Bacigalupa Gallery was the first established on Santa Fe's Canyon Road in 1956, which Drew and Ellen continuously operated until 2014; the Bacigalupas worked and raised their five children in this home, and like many of their generation kept everything.
