Explore the Home, Enjoy the Views, Shop the Treasures!

Hello ESWG Shoppers,

This custom-built 1969 home was thoughtfully designed by its owners in collaboration with their architect. The spacious 3,100-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom estate was cherished by a remarkable couple who spent 68 years entertaining, creating, and laughing together.

A Life Well Lived, A Legacy of Creativity

Gib was a successful, wholesale food salesman, talented journalist, and World War II veteran who served in the Army Air Corps. Joan Gibbons was an accomplished artist whose creative talents flourished in Santa Fe.

Married after the war, they raised three children and made homes in several places before settling in Santa Fe. Gib was known for his practical skills, wonderful sense of humor, and passion for building his garden railroad. Joan's artistic career earned recognition in prominent publications, including The Santa Fean Magazine and the Spiegel Catalog. Her work was celebrated in a national magazine feature, including its cover. She was also an accomplished harpist.

Together, they created a beautiful life filled with family, creativity, adventure, and shared passions.

The Estate Sale

This week's sale offers a wonderful collection reflecting their interests and lifestyle, including:

  1. Joan's original oil-on-canvas artwork
  2. Two original oil paintings by Lau Chun, her art teacher
  3. Beautiful decorative pieces
  4. Retablos
  5. A fully equipped kitchen filled with treasures for the entertainer
  6. A garage full of tools and useful finds
  7. Rugs, Furniture and Sewing Machine
