* About the Collectors: Judge William Wetzel and Mrs. Patricia Wetzel. At 92, the Judge is still lightning-fast with a witty comeback. His playful side is evident in a few of the quirkier forms of decor, like antique rat traps, satirical 19th C. lithographs, and more than a few tools we have yet to discover the purpose of.

Their contrasting but complimentary backgrounds —Bill is a retired New York State Supreme Court Judge, and his late wife Patricia, was an antiques dealer and amateur chef, a master knitter and seamstress, mother and grandmother. They shared a passion for American history, travel and foods. Their approach to collecting art and antiques was patient, selective and intellectually vigorous; their collection was formed over decades of trips to New England's back-road antique stores and open-air markets, bringing back treasures to furnish their historic home. This is a Collector's Collection, a love-letter to American decorative arts, assembled by a couple for whom acquiring antiques was a lifetime obsession.

A portion of this antique Westchester home, with its wrap-around porch, wide floor boards and floor to ceiling windows, dates back to the pre-1800s. It was once a club house for the world-renown Briarcliff Lodge golf course. Bill, as he is known, is a former Mayor of this well-manicured, quiet village—although the neighbors insist he will always be the Mayor! The home has played host to dignitaries and politicians; has welcomed dozens of friends, family and bunches of grand kids. Yet, when the Judge is asked what was his proudest achievement has been (outside of his family), he would say: My wife's Collection, ceding all credit to the late Patricia Wetzel. Assembling these pieces has truly been a shared labor of love, perseverance and creativity—and now, the entire contents of the home and the Collection is being offered for sale to the public for the first time... so that others may share & treasure the Judge's pride and joy.

This is truly a unique opportunity to own interesting artifacts and important furnishings from America's past. It's happening for one weekend only: Friday, June 2nd, Saturday, June 3rd and Sunday June 4th, from 10 to 4. Don't miss it!
