Online auction runs May 29, 2022, 12:00pm and begins closing on June 5, 2022, at 12:00pm.

Pickup / checkout times will be scheduled by appointment from June 6th-12th, 2022, in Dryden NY.

You can expect a call from our office within two (2) days auction close to collect and arrange payment and to schedule pickup of items.

Auction Terms & Conditions: Purchaser agrees that all items in this auction are sold AS IS and WHERE IS, with no warrantee or guarantee expressed or implied. It is the responsibility of the buyer to inspect goods before bidding. Preview times are available to bidders, by SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT ONLY. Responsibility for items sold transfers to the purchaser, at time of auction close. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. No returns, substitutions, or other transfers allowed. All purchases must be paid for at time of sale.

PLEASE NOTE: All auction sales are final. Although we make every effort with due diligence to inform bidders of all aspects of items we represent, it is incumbent upon the bidder to ascertain, to their satisfaction, the authenticity, condition, shipping / transportation costs or any other factors that may influence their bid, BEFORE BIDDING. By bidding, you are agreeing to the terms of this auction. Your bid is considered a binding legal agreement. All payments must be at time of item pick up, unless other arrangements have been agreed to in writing by the bidder and Grace Estate Sales.

There is a 10% buyers premium added to final auction values for this sale. Additionally, NY State Sales Tax (8%) will apply to all buyers. If you are NYS Tax exempt, please contact us ay 607-280-2727 to arrange for submission of your status for this sale.

Payment is acceptable in US dollars only. Acceptable forms of payment include cash upon pickup, pre-approved check upon pickup, credit card (there will be a 3% fee on invoice total for credit card purchases), Venmo. Payment must be made at time of scheduled pickup. Any item not picked up within seven (7) days of auction close will incur a storage fee of $10 / day. Items not paid for or picked up after fourteen (14) days will be considered abandoned and will be discarded or relisted for sale. Non-Paying buyers will be submitted to HiBid and will be excluded from all future sales by Grace Estate Sales. In other words, please pay for and pick-up your items in a timely fashion!

Pick-up times will be scheduled with individual buyers for the week following the close of the online auction. Buyers MUST bring help for loading and unloading of items. Auction staff will NOT be able to assist with loading or unloading of items. BRING BOXES & PACKING MATERIALS. Auction staff will NOT be able to provide boxes or packing materials.

Shipping is available for small items. Shipping costs will be actual postage via USPS/FEDEX + a $15/lot handling fee. Large items / furniture may be personally picked up by buyer OR by scheduled Courier pick-up only. Buyer will be responsible for all approved shipping costs / postage fees. Shipping is at the Buyer's risk. Large items / furniture can be picked up by shippers or couriers, as arranged by the buyer and as scheduled with auction staff. This is Part II of this wonderful collection, of artisans and local historians! This auction will be open for bidding from May 29th, 12:00pm and will begin closing on June 5th at 12:00pm.

Many pieces in this estate (including stained glass, sculpture, paintings, wood carvings, hand-built artisan furniture, and photographs) were made by Bard Prentiss, (1938-2021.) He was accomplished artist and craftsman, in addition to serving as Chair of the Art Department at SUNY Cortland for many years. He restored antique canoes as well, winning Classic Boat of the Year twice, at the Clayton NY Boat Show. He and his brother founded a company that built stained-glass weathervanes, and carved fine wood canoe paddles.

His partner in life, Gina Prins Prentiss was an artisan and Librarian, as well as President of the Dryden Historical Society for many years, and was a keen collector, gathering treasures for decades. 

This estate consists of many art & furniture pieces created by Bard Prentiss, as well as the well-curated collection of Gina Prentiss. 

Lots 1-31: Antiques and collectibles, including true primitives, glassware, blue canning jars, vintage lunchbox & thermoses, glass insulators, composition mannequin head, cast iron owl andirons, crocks, wooden barrel, basketry, several pairs of antique and contemporary snow shoes & skis, painted folk art sign.

Lots 32-46: Canoe and boat paddles, many carved by Bard Prentiss. Others, from their Adirondack camp.
