This is the lifetime collection of Dr. C. Brian Preston taken across the world, reflecting a keen global appreciation for the interesting, the beautiful, and, the poignant.

Who would expect to find an Orthodontist in the Amazon jungle, or walking along the Great Wall of China, riding a bicycle in Montreal or collecting soapstone hippos in Zimbabwe.

Dr. Preston's thirst for knowledge and experience was all encompassing– he was an avid cyclist and tennis player, taking up flying during his stay in London, followed by water skiing, downhill skiing, and scuba diving. He enjoyed motor sport, restoring old cars, and wild plant collection.  He was very much at home in markets, antique stores and art galleries around the world, from Mozambique, Zanzibar, Istanbul and London to Egypt, Syria, Buffalo and South Africa. He enjoyed studying oriental rugs and art, meeting many artists themselves. He spent many hours with oriental rug dealers studying the patterns and colors of beautiful carpets. Each piece in his home was collected with deep personal reflection, and with appreciation for the artist’s expertise.
