THIS ESTATE SALE IS  A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE THE INTERIOR OF THIS UNIQUE, HAND-MADE HOUSE BY A LEADING AMERICAN ARTIST OF THE EARLY 20th CENTURY

This historically and architecturally significant home was designed and built (by hand) by HENRY VARNUM POOR, one of the "Top 10 of American Artists" of his time—and a true Renaissance man. The house's style is a marriage of Bauhaus and Arts and Crafts, and was built in 1941 for Milton Caniff, the popular cartoonist. Henry built several homes in the area for his celebrity friends in New City, between the Wars. Together, they formed a loose collective known as the South Mountain Road Artist Colony, located at the foot of High Tor Mountain.
