Description & Details

Ring in 2026 with an evening sale of fine art, prints, and sculpture drawn from several private collections and estates, together with a special group of works by sculptor Robert Berks offered directly from the Estate of the Artist. This carefully curated auction brings together museum-linked graphic work, antique material, and fresh-to-market pieces that bridge art, illustration, and history.

Among the works on paper are prints by Marc Chagall, Henry Moore, Edouard Manet, and Francisco de Goya (including an impression from Los Caprichos), alongside an antique illuminated choir-book leaf on vellum, a Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print, and additional European and American engravings, etchings, and lithographs. Regional interest is represented by works from North Fork artists William Steeple Davis and Alan Bull, whose depictions of local landscape and architecture have an established following with area collectors.

The centerpiece of the sale is a focused selection of sculpture and related material by Robert Berks, consigned from the artist?s estate. These expressive portrait busts and studies include powerful likenesses of President Lyndon B. Johnson and First Lady Lady Bird Johnson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, and a vivid group of cultural figures such as Bob Hope, Johnny Carson, Jerry Lewis, Joe Louis, and Ed Sullivan, offering insight into Berks? role in shaping the public image of key twentieth-century personalities.

Live online bidding is taking place now and final bidding begins Thursday, January 1, 2026 at 4:00 PM Pacific / 7:00 PM Eastern.
