This historic 1838 home is filled with antiques and collectibles.  The owner's, John and Barbara O'Brien, also former owner's of Good Old Days Country Store, are moving to a warmer winter climate.  They are leaving behind for you their treasures from decades of collecting Americana and Folk Art from throughout the USA.  Also, there is a wood working shop that any craftsperson would dream of having all this equipment.  As we work in the various areas of home we will be adding items.  This is a sale you do not want to pass on.  Home is air conditioned, so hopefully all will be comfortable!  The photos and descriptions tell the story of this great sale!  The following is a list as of today:

Fabulous early dry sink in original surface with two doors, interior shelf and side top drawer.  Other items described separately.Rare, double lovebird three gallon crock by "S. Hart, Fulton". Has spider crack, etc. on back side.Large beehive wooden bowl in old paint over original salmon.  We have firkins, and more firkins, storage boxes, etc. , all in original surface paint: salmon, ecru, red, blue, green  and some in old surface patina.More storage bail handled containers.  All original six drawer apothecary.Early cupboard, all original.  Great interior.  Stenciled early children's sled.  Late 1700's English pewter warming dish, hallmarked and with "LONDON" inscribed.  Primitive bread board.  Contemporary snow goose, unsigned.  Pharmacist's stone mortar and pestle. Interior of grey cupboard previously pictured.  Old red paint with landscape scene Victorian era sled.Three drawer chest in original surface old red wash.  Great for bedroom or country dining  area."SNOW QUEEN" Victorian era sled.Grain painted blanket box with decorative base in original surface.  Large round gray blue painted storage box.  This is one of the largest I've seen.  Several mortars and pestles in great paint.  Just two examples of  the "LYONS" stoneware pieces.I told you we had stoneware!  Here is more with many batter pitchers to choose from.Chamfered and paneled door hanging cupboard in dark green dry surface paint.Wonderful stoneware jug with advertising for 'BERHARDT BROS., BUFFALO, NY"This is definitely someones ingenuity at work with this "makedo".  Early, redwash wooden keg and then became a churn.Early original surface blue grey color blanket box.  Primitive style swan.Made by: "Helen v. Osburn" and dated "1929", 48 star, LINEN flag.   There is another Rochester, NY Co. made flag that is probably a later vintage, but also 48 stars.Farm table made by John O'Brien.  Black painted base with pine finished top.  Approximately 6 ft. + X 37 " wide.   Set of Six Windsor style chairs made by Lawrence Crouse.  The rocking horse is very early.   Please ask for more pictures.  As we work through items we will be staging items better so I can get better images.  For now, I just wanted to give you a flavor for what great treasures are in this sale!Two examples of several stoneware batter jugs with blue decoration.  No lids or spout coverning on these, however, there are others that do have both.  These are from "Binghamton".  One a "4" and the other a "6" quart.Fabulous salmon dry surface paint on this large firkin.(bottom one for your stack)Contemporary "d. spinner, Redware 1811" advertising sign.  EARLY Gameboard in original black and red surface paint.  I will try and get better image of gameboard.  This is one of a few other gameboards being offered.  I will post when we get to that room. More salt boxes in dark green and grey/red paint.   Vintage cement rooster.  Just one of many outdoor items in sale. Well, this is one of the nicest early bucket benches we've had in a sale.  The paint is dry and original.  It would be great for displaying your most treasured primitives or makes a special statement empty. "N. Clark, Jr., Athens, NY, 4" crock with large bird blue decoration!  This outstanding replica wall hanging bowl rack and spice apothecary was made and painted by John O'Brien.  The early wooden bowls and trencher are in dry painted surfaces.  One of the sweetest painted three drawer "spothecary's" in sale. Two original surface and painted storage boxes, one in old red and the other in blue.  Contemporary lamp with punched tin shade.  Johnston Benchworks sofa. Johnston Benchworks chair, ottoman and two matching pillows.  John created the primitive style lamp with a replica punched tin shade.  The beautiful cherry one drawer stand in the Hepplewhite style was also made by John.This early sign is from the "Town Offices Granby".  Original surface and probably CT.  Some overpaint.This church pew is early and very sturdy.  design on ends. Nice early wooden barber pole in vivid colors.  Approximately 40" tall.Another large, all original grey paint surface.One of Elizabeth (Lizzy) M. Proctor's final creations, a "bushwhacker" splint basket.  The Proctor's descended from late 1700's in the Taghkanic Region of the Hudson Valley.   "Angel House" replica primitive chair in excellent, like new condition.This antique sideboard is one of the most usable pieces of furniture I know of.  In a dining room it lends itself for linen and china storage; bedroom for clothing; in larger bathrooms linen; hallway for hats, shoes, etc. John O'brien created this replica of a primitive cupboard in traditional red paint.  Antique wooden bowl with traces of original red wash.An exceptional 7 ft. long bench with splay legs and great original surface and a green-blue paint.  A "makedo" checkerboard on a early bread board.Unique wall hanging lift top primitive desk with original surface.Early primitive splint seat chair.  Wonderful blue wooden bucket; and old bowl. Antique harvest table in a wonderful blue color.  Stoneware pieces follow with separate photos and descriptions. "N. Clark, Jr." 3 gallon jug with an exceptional large blue decoration. Probably made at the Clark, Athens, NY pottery. This is just a sweet, early ovoid”N. Clark & Co.  "LYONS" inscribed jug with a wisp of blue.Large collection of early wooden planes, mostly signed:  J. WEBB; L. & I. J. White, Buffalo, Casey Kitchel & Co., Auburn, Albany, and others numbered only.Group of porch furniture and decorations.I'm so sad, John and Barbara wanted me to take the trip to our new home, but there just wasn't room for me.
