Artist Statement by Christopher D'Amanda Stories of being in the moment. Paintings of my inner love for life.
I committed to processing my life through Art starting over 40 years ago, through theater in NYC, Ceramics in Italy and Rochester NY, and for the last 11 years through abstract paintings in Acrylic.
My paintings are reflections, not necessarily to depict the understanding of life, but to demonstrate the acceptance of it. I’m painting my responses to circumstances, not the circumstances themselves.
While working on a painting, I focus on being in the moment. Each piece is then an evaluation of where I feel I am mentally, on this journey, within the context of being thankful for my life.
“There is a place in us where peace resides. My paintings are attempted depictions of life meeting that place”
