Dianne Dengel was a well-loved, world renowned Rochester, NY artist. She showed a talent for art from an early age and her favorite subject matter was people. Dianne was self-taught, known as “The artist who paints with her fingers and rolled bits of paper”, she specialized in creating fabric dolls and paintings which speak softly of love, understanding and a simpler time. Her work has been reproduced in calendars, books and even as jigsaw puzzles.
Dianne showed her art across the country. She was a regular vendor at local festivals such as the Canandaigua Waterfront Art Festival, the Clothesline Festival at Rochester’s Memorial Art Gallery and the Shops on West Ridge in Greece, NY. One of Dianne’s many artistic accomplishments included several commissioned paintings for the late Fred Rogers. Dianne was a guest on a segment of “Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood” where she painted a portrait of Fred on the episode at his request. She was also commissioned by Oprah for a self portrait.
The “Norman Rockwell of Rochester”, Dianne traveled the country for over forty years demonstrating her talents and showcasing her one of a kind style to amazed audiences.
Please join us for this unique chance to own a piece of her legacy. This will be the last chance to own an original artwork or doll from Dianne’s estate. Some of these creations have never before been offered for sale. A once in a lifetime opportunity.
During our Thursday night opening, we will be serving refreshments to enjoy while you shop and browse Dianne’s artwork.
