WANTAGH - 70 YEAR COLLECTION - PHOTOS FOR DAY 2
Apr 8
9am to 4pmApr 9
9am to 4pmTerms & Conditions
UNLIKE THE OTHERS, WE WILL EMAIL, TEXT OR DISCUSS OUR PRICING WITH YOU - SO YOU DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND WE DON'T WASTE OURS. THIS SALE MAY BE A LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN OUR OTHERS, SINCE WE AREN'T GOING TO HAVE A LOT OF SET UP TIME AND WILL BE PRICING THE DAY PRIOR TO THE SALE.
We Honor Numbers. If you start numbers, you or someone on your behalf must stay at the site from the start of the numbers to the door opening. AS ALWAYS, NUMBER 1 GETS A 5 MINUTE HEAD START PRIOR TO OPENING, AS DOES NUMBER 2, AND IF TIME PERMITS NUMBER 3. Because afterall, if you sleep overnight in a car (and in this case for two days) you should get what you came for.

Description & Details
ATTENTION - THE COMIC ART HAS ALL SOLD IN A SINGLE LOT, AND WILL NOT BE IN THE SALE. THERE IS STILL PLENTY OF GREAT THINGS, BUT THE COMIC ART IS NOT IN THE SALE. There is STILL illustration art available. ALL OF THE SPORTS MEMORABILIA HAS SOLD.
WOW - When I say this is the sale of the DECADE, I mean it. Our client has been collecting Art, Antiques, Glass, JEWELRY, Ephemera and Pottery for nearly 50 years, and he inherited a ton of stuff from his parents which will be in the sale as well.. Because of the conditions of his home in Queens and parking conditions, we are moving the entire estate - dust and all - to an an Empty Home in Wantagh - Nothing is being held back except for one Cigar Store Indian, which will be available for private sale after the Estate Sale.
There are at least 1500 paintings, drawings and illustrations.
The fine art is amazing. There are pieces painted 100's of years ago and items painted within the last ten years. Many of the pieces are not yet identified (or even viewable - look at the photos of piles) but so far we have found AND STILL HAVE Major Oils by FERDINAND BURGDORFF, A Gregory MCLoughlin OIL exhibited at the Art institute of Chicago and Charles Levier. Today (Thursday) we found many more listed artists including an Orlando Norie, ANGEL ESPOY, A. SMITH, A MAJOR WILLIAM SATERLEE African American scene, Beverly Bogen.. There are 100's drawings by many important artists - so far we found one by Edith Kramer and another by Karoly Lotz. There are 100's of prints including Hunt Slonem Silkscreens, VASARELI, DALI, and so many that are unidentified. The Art will be priced to Sell because there is just so much of it. There are at least 400 paintings AND/OR WORKS ON PAPER PRICED $25.
We just opened a box that contained old costume jewelry, a few pieces of 14k gold, and some sterling and sterling turquise pieces. There is a lot of great signed costume jewelry and signed turquoise and sterling pieces - one of the cameos is 14k. This jewelry was not known to us until we started opening boxes, so its not in Newsday. We sTILL have 3 full cases of jewelry. THE Cartier sterling C HAS SOLD. I'VE PHOTOGRAPHED THE CASES AS THEY WILL APPEAR TO START THE DAY.
Now the Antiques are amazing. , There will be at least one Cigar Store Indian in the sale (and one available after the sale.) There are at least 100 bronzes including a Seymour Meyer, and many signed pieces which we have yet to identify, and which we may not have time to identify before the sale. Hopefully we can do so before the sale, but if not bargains will abound. The same applies for pottery, art glass, sculpture and bric brac. There must be 300 pieces of pottery and glass - much of it signed - and there is no telling what is in the boxes. LOADS AND LOADS OF DOLLAR ITEMS FOR RESALE.
We are going to do our best to relocate this estate to Wantagh and make it fun and profitable for all involved. Email with questons. PHOTOS WERE TAKEN AT THE END OF THE DA ON SATURDAY, SO IF YOU SEE IT, IT WILL BE THERE WHEN THE DOORS OPEN ON SUNDAY AT 9.
