Hunting Valley pole barn sale

By Appointment Only!

After several "false starts", we are finally able to set the dates for this sale.

Due to city regulations, we are making attendance of this sale by appointment only!  Read the bottom of this ad for details.

This is literally THE BIGGEST sale we have ever done!  We have been put in charge of emptying a massive pole barn.  The owner was a serious "collector" and used the barn to store his finds.

What's in the barn?  Well, name it, and we probably have it!

Sale Highlights

  • HUGE amount of polished marble slabs and pieces
  • architectural items (Windows, doors, more)
  • audio equipment and vintage electronics
  • dishes
  • collectible brewerania
  • Bar items
  • vintage metal floor fans and desk fans
  • piles of slate roofing tiles
  • Antique milk pails and gas cans
  • Restaurant ware - including cooling racks, sheet trays, cookware and more
  • garden tools
  • Huge selection of books from antique to newer
  • Stainless steel sinks
  • Books (literally well over 1000 books, from antique to newer)
  • LP's - in various condition, and ranging from Mantovani to the Beach Boys
  • lumber and wood molding

And there is PLENTY of "man cave" stuff here as well, including:

  • Gilbarco farm gas pump
  • Old Ford tailgates
  • old auto gas tanks
  • huge amount of car parts, including wheels, suspension parts, bumpers and more
  • actual engines, including a massive GM diesel motor
  • replacement small parts, from steering wheels to tail lights
  • lots of chrome truck exhaust stack pipes

There is also an interesting selection of antique candy-making equipment, including:

  • Clear candy molds
  • Thomas Mills items, including antique candy cutter
  • Starch presses
  • Starch molds and trays

Another very interesting find!  We came across a lot of reels of antique brass decorative banding trim!  If you've ever bought an antique lamp, you know what this stuff is.  It's that decorative perforated metal banding that usually goes around the shade's support ring.  Take a look on-line and you'll see that this stuff sells for anywhere from $2 to $10 a foot!  And we're pretty sure this is NOT the newer reproduction stuff...this is the real thing!

Conditions inside the barn

  • This is not an old wood barn, but a steel pole barn.  It has not been cleaned out in decades and is dirty, so dress appropriately.
  • The barn has been occupied by many non-human creatures (raccoons, birds, etc.) and as such some of the items reflect this.
  • wear comfortable shoes; no sandals; you're going to be doing a lot of walking
  • Lighting is spotty, so bring a good flashlight.
  • We strongly recommend work gloves if you plan on doing any digging.
  • items for sale will be available both inside and outside the barn.
  • Please...do NOT expect the items to be pristine, or even as organized as we typically do for our estate sales.  In other words, prepare to dig.  If you don't like digging, this sale may not be for you.

INVITATION-ONLY DETAILS

  • Due to city guidelines, we are limited in the number of people attending this sale at any given time.  Although making this sale by invitation only is NOT how we originally wanted to do this, it is the best option we have.
  • The sale is being run for 3 days: August 26th, 27th and 28th.  We may have another sale in the future, but for now we are just scheduling this one 3-day sale.
  • Available hour "blocks" to attend the sale are 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm each day.
  • You will have a total of 3 hours to go through the barn, get the items you want, pay for the items, pack up, and leave the premises.
  • If you purchase a large item which cannot easily be removed (such as one of the large diesel motors), you will need to schedule a separate pick-up time.
  • Our regular payment methods apply (cash, debit card, credit card; no checks)

How do I get an invitation?

You can get your "tickets" only via the Internet.  Please do not call or email me for tickets.  Click on the following link, and click the "Register" button.  Then select the date/time you want to attend and complete the simple registration process.  Tickets for this sale are (of course) free.

Get tickets to this sale here!

When can I get tickets for the sale?

Tickets will be available starting August 9th at 8pm.

Is there any chance I can purchase something before the actual sale?

To be fair to our regular buyers, we are not doing any pre-sales, nor are we providing any pricing information.

Is there a way I can call or email you to get tickets to this sale?

Again, to be fair to everyone, there is only one way to get tickets this sale:  click on the link above and get your tickets on-line.

This whole invitation-only thing seems like overkill.

Perhaps it is.  But we really do need to control the in/out traffic for this sale, as well as the total number of attendees.  This is the fairest way to do it.
