Robert Herrmann Original Architectural Watercolor: An original watercolor painting on heavyweight watercolor paper by listed artist Robert Herrmann (1922-1996). Known for his precision and clean, linear works, Herrmann stays true to form in this work. A massive geometric skyscraper and the tower of a church painted in delicate shades of peach and olive contrast each other wonderfully. The painting is initialed by the artist to the lower right. It is matted in white and presented without framing, awaiting your choice of presentation. In his life, Herrmann chose not to show any of his work publicly; his first solo exhibition was held posthumously. Please see link below for additional information.Jack Meanwell Original 2001 Abstract Oil on Canvas Board: An original oil painting on canvas board by well-listed Cincinnati artist Jack Meanwell (1919-2005), dated 2001. The painting is an erratic blur of thickly applied white, orange, viridian green and cobalt blue impasto paint, beautifully manipulated with brush and palette knife like icing on a cake. Artist signature and date are marked to the lower right of painting and in pencil to the verso. The painting is presented in a blonde wood frame. Meanwell was an instructor at the Art Academy of Cincinnati for over twenty-five years and holds a special place among collected Cincinnati painters.Philippe Halsman Original Chromogenic Photograph of Andy Warhol: A chromogenic color photograph on glossy photo paper by extremely well-listed 20th century portrait photographer Philippe Halsman (American/Latvian, 1906 – 1979). The photograph depicts a three-panel portrait of famed American pop artist Andy Warhol (1928 – 1987); each panel depicts a closely-cropped image of the artist’s face cast in a different vibrant shades of light. The photograph was taken in 1968 and released in a 1989 portfolio of eight color chromogenic prints, released in a limited edition run of 100. Presented without matting or framing, awaiting your choice of presentation.Jim Dine Original Ovular Charcoal Portrait: An original portrait on toned paper by prolific and very well-listed American pop artist Jim Dine (Ohio/New York, born 1935). This portrait depicts a dark-haired person, with their chin lowered as they stare intently back at the viewer. The ovular drawing is double-matted in beige and pale gray and is presented behind glass in a wooden frame. The drawing is unsigned. Per consignor, this piece was given as a gift from Dine to his professor at the University of Cincinnati, from whose family the piece is now being sold. Carl Solway of Solway Galleries spoke with Jim Dine in October 2016 and gained verbal confirmation of this information; paperwork documenting this information is included. Extensive information about this prolific artist can be found below under Additional Information.Edgar Hatten Original Mixed Media Painting Canvas "Girl": An original 1984 mixed media painting on canvas by listed American/Australian artist Edgar Hatten (1929 – 1990), titled Girl. The painting uses collaged paper, oil paint, and oil pastels to create an abstract composition that seems to be centralized around a deep forest green form to its center. The painting is signed, dated, and titled by the artist to the verso. It is presented in a simple black composite frame with a hanging wire. Hatten is known for painting abstract still-lifes and landscapes, integrating mood, concept, visual elements, and drama. He was born in Wyoming and lived most of his life in Los Angeles. He was a teacher at Swinburne College in Australia, and in California at East Los Angeles College and Citrus College.
