John Stango Mix Media on Canvas of Chanel in Pink: A serigraph with acrylic embellishments of a Chanel bottle in pink by listed Contemporary artist John Stango (b. 1958). This works features a print of a Chanel N°5 perfume bottle. The canvas is painted in pink acrylic along the bottom as well as the upper portion of the bottle. Flecks of acrylic paint in blue, orange, yellow are scattered throughout the composition. This piece is signed in black paint in the lower left corner and to the verso in black ink. To the verso, a horizontal hanging wire is present and this piece comes ready to hang. Abstracted to simplified lines and brushstrokes, this portrait features a frontal view of a woman’s face. The subject is portrayed with Keil’s signature style consisting of sweeping black outlines and vibrant colors applied in large gestural brushstrokes.
