19th Century Chinese Carved Rosewood Vanity Box with Mirror: A 19th century Chinese carved rosewood vanity case, designed to be compact for travel with handles at each side. The outer box is carved with auspicious symbols and flying bats, then brass hardware and a geometric carved pattern at the base. The hinged top frames the mirror which props open revealing the four inner drawers and two storage boxes that swing outward. The original brass lock and key are present and working.

Carl Zimmerman Watercolor on Paper "Rolling Surf": A watercolor painting on paper titled Rolling Surf by Cincinnati artist Carl Zimmerman (American, 1900-1985), executed in 1970. White froth sprays on to the rocks leftover from the crashing wave of the in the top of the composition. Angular rocks protrude in all directions with pointed ends and geometric forms. To the verso is an inscription, “Rolling Surf- 1970- Mt. Desert,” with Mt. Desert being an island in Maine. Embossed mark to the lower right, “Estate of Carl Zimmerman,” and a notated “67” in blue ink to the right. Presented mounted to foam core with a white matting and wrapped in acetate.
