Item Description: A fabulous 1940's-50's American Hollywood Auricon solid teak wood tripod sound on film recording equipment in the original box manufactured by Berndt-Bach Inc. Reproductions of this piece go for thousands of dollars. This type of tripod was used for motion pictures in Hollywood with all original parts, crafted in solid teak with chrome and steel hardware, metal plaque engraved, "Auricon sound on film recording equipment Berndt-Bach Inc. American Hollywood Hollywood California Made in USA." The two piece box is constructed of thick cardboard having lift off lid adorn with leather carrying handle and interior straps to secure tripod. Item Description: A rare antique Reflex camera 1898 and several model improvements of the Reflex camera with variations were made through 1915 with the closing of the company. The original Patented Reflex camera was made in a 4 x 5 and 5 x 7 inch sizes. The cameras were constructed of wood with leather covering. The camera featured a fast focal plane shutter providing of exposures speeds from 1 to 1/1000 of a second. the image was viewed in the collapsible hood by a hinged internal mirror which reflects the full sized image on to the ground glass up to the instant of exposure so that the image can be proper framed and focused. There is also a ground glass in the rear of the camera for focusing in the usual way when the camera is on a tripod.
