Here we are offering a portion of the Dr. Gerard and Phyllis Seltzer collection and works from Phyllis Seltzers lifetime artistic career. The estate elected to offer their works of art in various ways and we are honored to be part of the process. Exceptional pieces are offered over three separate sales. Included in this sale are wonderful regional pottery, prints, paintings and sculptures by numerous recognized artists! Phyllis (Finkelstein) Seltzer was born in Michigan, but she truly is a Cleveland icon, adopting her beloved city of Cleveland for ninety years. Seltzer received a bachelor and masters of Fine Arts degree from the University of Iowa. She continued Graduate Studies in Architecture from the University of Michigan, and history of Technology from Case Western University. Upon Graduating in 1952 she made a big splash in the art world wining first prize in an international print show. This print, "The Stage of Life", was purchased by the Brooklyn Museum of Art and an additional print was purchased  by the Cleveland Museum of Art. Seltzer followed that up with being awarded the Tiffany Fellowship launching her innovative and prolific career, extending over seven decades.

Her work explores print making, painting, and mixed media, tackling social and political issues, through the Cleveland landscape, Chicago, New York, Venice and beyond.

Seltzer documented experiences in life, exhibited in over fifty shows, and is recognized in more than 30 public and corporate collections, including: Cleveland, Brooklyn, Akron, Butler, Minnesota Museums of Art, the National Gallery of Ottawa, The City of New York museum, several libraries and corporate collections (BP, Citibank and United Airlines).

The Seltzer sale presents oil paintings, mixed media, and prints (heat transfer, color Xerography and monochrome offset process. The sale includes, Knoll table, Gene Kangas glass vase, China Mottahedeh Tobacco Leaf Pattern, Walter Von Nessen swing arm chrome floor lamps, MCM wooden beverage cart, tilt top table and "City Desk" by Lee Schuette, swivel chair by Geoffrey D. Harcourt for Artifort, small cabinet by J. Remington, two modern cabinets by Reff Canada, Eero Saarinen swivel office  chair, exceptional Moroccan, Persian and other rugs, plus works of art by P. Sloane, W. Sommer, L. C.
