Featured Lot: Circa Turn of the Century, rare Turn Teplitz Bohemia RStK Art Nouveau Amphora handpainted enameled portrait vase with wide bulbous body and slender neck flaring out at the rim, Made In Austria. Red RStK mark with impressed mold 473, artist initials IR, measuring approximately 5 1/2H x 6D. The front of this vase is a profile of a lady having gilt decoration with a falcon headdress who appears to be a warrior. The reverse shows the Lavender Rainforest, a mainstay of the Portrait vases, The Wasps and special pieces. Reference Byron Vreeland: "Monsters and Maidens: Amphora Pottery of the Art Nouveau Era" Los Angeles: Fledermaus Press, 2003 pp. 22 and 53.
