EBTH is delighted to present original art, home decor, and more from the collection of Richard and Maggie Mantia. Much of the art was produced by Richard, a classically trained artist who studied under Ariel Agemian. He earned his BFA at Western Kentucky University and his MFA at the Pratt Art Institute in NYC. Richard has worked as a set designer in Hollywood, CA, an instructor of drawing and painting in Louisville, KY, and as a fine artist living in both Dayton, OH and St. Remy-de-Provence, France. His paintings are in private and corporate collections in the USA, Europe, and the UK.

Richard and Maggie Mantia Hand Painted and Decoupage Kitchen Cabinet: A hand painted and decoupaged wooden French Provincial style cabinet by Richard and Maggie Mantia. It features a white floral pediment on an arched top, a tall, narrow body with a fitted door and a bottom drawer with a serpentine front and dovetail joinery, and clawed feet on casters. The door is painted with a stocky chef preparing food, as well as a black and white checkerboard pattern trim around the perimeter. “Mantia” is signed at the bottom right. The shoulders are painted like faux tan marble and decorated with travel memorabilia decoupaged within checkerboard trim. The bottom drawer is painted a gray faux marble with red and green pepper handles, with brown and black checkerboard and animal stripe patterns on the top and bottom aprons. The legs are painted with a faux leopard pattern.
