Terms & Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By registering for this auction, you indicate that you have read and agree to the full terms and conditions set forth below. The purchase price shall be the final hammer price plus a buyer's premium of 20% in person, absentee, and phone; 20% online via meanderauctions.com; 25% via Live Auctioneers and Invaluable.

Bids are considered binding contracts to purchase. We strive to provide accurate descriptions and condition reports. Please read the descriptions and examine the photos. We are happy to answer your questions and provide additional and higher-resolution photographs. Please ask! We will answer questions in the order in which they are received. Any updates or new photographs will be posted to the catalog here on our website. Please check here prior to placing bids to ensure that you have the most up-to-date information.

By bidding on any lot, you acknowledge that you are satisfied with the item(s) as is and are prepared to pick up or have shipped every item in all lots purchased.

You may bid in our auction in three ways:

1. Bid in-person at our gallery, located at 6825 State Route 821, Whipple, Ohio.

2. Place an absentee or phone bid directly with us. We will execute your bid competitively and honestly. Absentee bids left directly with us are subject to a buyer's premium of 20%. To bid via absentee or phone, please call, email, or submit the form available on our website.

3. Bid online via meanerauctions.com, Invaluable, or Live Auctioneers. Bids may be left in advance of the auction, or you may bid live during the auction. The execution of online bids will be handled by the bidding platforms. Meander Auctions will not be held liable for any missed bids due to technical issues or delays due to internet connectivity. Bids executed through live auction platforms are subject to a higher buyer's premium than our 20% in-house premium. The auctioneer will have sole discretion to settle any and all bidding disputes, and the auctioneer?s record of the high bids will be the official record (regardless of what is reported by any or all of the bidding platforms).

RESERVES

Occasionally, the auctioneer may agree not to sell a lot below a specific, or minimum, price. We strive to work with our consignors to ensure that reserves are reasonable in the current market. We do not bid on behalf of a secret reserve, rather, we simply set the opening bid at the agreed upon reserve.

AFTER THE AUCTION

On the Monday after the auction, we will send out a general email to all successful bidders outlining the invoicing, shipping, and pickup process. PLEASE NOTE: the auctioneer maintains the official record of the auction, including who are the successful buyers. Occasionally, due to a technical glitch beyond our control, one of the bidding platforms may indicate that you are the buyer but, in fact, you are not. All official buyers will receive an invoice, so if you don?t receive an invoice, your bid was not successful. We apologize for any confusion this may cause.

PAYMENT

Invoices will be sent out after the auction. Payment is due upon receipt of that invoice. We accept most major credits, as well as cash (if you are picking up), wire transfer, and bidders known to us may pay via check. We require wire transfers for invoices in excess of $5,000. Purchases of coins, jewelry, and precious metals in excess of $500 may be required to pay via wire transfer. A small processing fee will be added for all credit card payments and wire transfers. Payment may be made online, by phone, or at the time of pickup. For buyers needing their purchase(s) shipped, we will determine the shipping cost and send a follow-up invoice. No lots will be released without full payment. IF YOU ARE MAILING PAYMENT, PLEASE SEND TO: PO BOX 2199, MARIETTA, OH 45750. We do NOT receive mail at the gallery location, and any payment sent here will result in delayed shipment.

PICKUP AND SHIPPING

We are committed to affordable in-house shipping, and we ask your patience as it may take 2-3 weeks from the point of payment until your package goes out our door. We will provide you with tracking information when it is available.

There are three ways to get your purchase(s):

1. You can pick up your items by appointment. All items from this auction are available for pickup by appointment at our gallery: 6825 State Route 821, Whipple, OH 45788. Please allow call for an appointment at least 24 hours ahead to ensure we can assist you.

2. You can have a friend or hire a third party pick up your items by appointment. You must notify us who will be picking your items up; we will only release items to a pre-designated person or company.

3. We can pack and/or ship your items to you. Our shipping software partner, Shipping Saint, allows us to offer in-house shipping for any lot purchase from us. If your purchases are small enough to be packed and shipped via a traditional carrier (USPS or UPS), we will do so, and we will charge you for the packing materials, packing labor, shipping, and insurance. If your purchase is too large to ship via traditional carrier (such as furniture), Shipping Saint will locate a shipping company to come and pick up your item(s) and deliver them to you. In both cases, once your initial invoice is paid, Shipping Saint will allow us to calculate the total cost of shipping and send you a second invoice. Once that shipping invoice is paid, your purchase(s) will be shipped or flagged for pickup by the designated carrier.

Any item left longer than 30 days may be subject to a storage fee of $5 per day per lot. Any item left longer than 60 days may be sold at our discretion and the proceeds retained to recoup storage fees.

We?re sorry, but we are unable to use shipping labels you purchase and send to us.

AUTOPAY

If you have not contacted Meander Auctions to arrange payment within 3 days of the time that invoice is sent, we may charge the credit card you used to register for the auction for the amount of your invoice.

SALES TAX

Purchases from Meander Auctions may be subject to sales tax. If you are tax-exempt, you must submit a copy of a completed tax exemption form. If you are tax exempt and bidding via Invaluable or Live Auctioneers, you must register your status directly with them.
