The Late Doug and Winnie Hawkins Estate Sale & Art Collection
The estate and personal art collection of art collectors, the late Dr. Doug (DVM) and Winnie Hawkins, also a well known local artist herself, will go on sale in Oklahoma City's Treadwell Hills neighborhood. The Hawkins' private art collection, including several of Winnie's own pieces, will be available for sale. The home furnishings, house and kitchen wares, and many very interesting pieces from their travels, will also be for sale during the November 18-19-20 estate sale.
Some of the fine antiques include chests of drawers, wash stands, marble top low boys, marble top tables, trunk, metal wash stand, gentleman's dresser, ice box, coal scuttle, bed, buffets, chairs, occasional tables, secretary desks, sewing machine table, and more.
Some of the items that may be obtained from vintage eras are 10 drawer metal architecture cabinet, bookcases, cane chaise lounge, sewing machine cabinet, roll top desk, umbrella collection, and much more vintage.
Other items include office armoire, tv stand, baker's rack, small sectional sofa, leather sofas, recliners, studio work table, multi-tier work table for mat or glass cutting etc, electronics, baskets, folding table, sewing notions, washer and dryer, shelving, small appliances, glassware, china, and various kitchen wares. Yard art includes a large iron decorative statue, Joe Coniff wind bells, sun dial, patio furniture, fountains, flower pots, pottery, bird baths to name a few.
Dr. Doug Hawkins, DVM graduated from Oklahoma A&M and was a practicing veterinarian at Espy’s, Northeast, Dickensbrae and later the City Animal Hospital where he practiced for over 30 years. The Late Winnie Hawkins was an accomplished artist and co-owner of Studio Six in the Paseo Arts District in Oklahoma City. Hawkins' extensive studies and travels are reflected in the collection. She was a member of the National Watercolor Society and held signature membership, as well as a member in several other national and local societies. Her work has been exhibited in the Governor's Gallery and East Gallery of the Oklahoma State Capitol.
These works are presented in a number of mediums including Gouache, water color, copper engravings, pencil drawings, prints, high gloss acrylics, oil, mixed media, lithographs and more. The following list of artists is not exhaustive, but is however a significant representation that will be available for sale.
