Description & Details

Very large sale moved offsite due to HOA restrictions.  Lifetime collections from three friends, one of whom is retiring and moving abroad and two who are downsizing considerably.  This combined sale truly has something for everyone.  All three friends were serious collectors with very different areas of interest.  One has an enormous collection of sterling silver that includes 7 tea and coffee sets and 11 large sets of flatware.  The makers are Tiffany, Black Starr and Frost among others.  Another of the friends haunted the best auction houses and antique stores in the South.  She has decided to part with her late husbands Patek Phillipe watches along with a Rolex, several other watches, and some of her fine jewelry.  Her furniture and rugs are not to be missed.  There are fine American and English chests, cabinets, tables and sets of chairs.  She is also parting with her service for 20 of Herend's Rothschild Bird china with blue border as well as all of the matching serving pieces.  The third friend, who is retiring abroad, has a large collection of lifetime Piranesi engravings including a map of Rome done in collaboration with Nolli.  There are multiple grand tour marble sculptures as well as numerous 19th c neoclassical bronzes, including a large Isis tripod cast by Chiurazi, and an enormous Bronze torchere pricket stand on marble and wood base.  Check back before the sale as more pics and details will be added daily.  Fine art,  jewelry and silver will not be present until the day of the sale.
