We will be liquidating the estate of Dr. Fred Decker and his wife Charlotte long time residents of Corvallis. They built there home in late 1949 and moved in the next year and it is still owned by family.
Dr. Dexter passed away this last spring 9 days after his wife of 66 years. Both were in their 90s and grew up in the depression. Hence, nothing was ever tossed. Dr. Decker graduated from OSU in physics (already a 2nd Lieutenant in the army air corps) and went to work with the National Air Weather Service. Then went to New York to teach the flyboys to read weather maps then went on to retire as a Lieutenant Colonel of the Air Force Reserve.
Dr. Decker Joined the Oregon State University faculty in 1946 where he taught courses in Engineering, physics, astronomy, climatology and theoretical and applied meteorology and served until 1981. He was also very active in The Boy Scouts.
Dr. Decker traveled and lectured internationally and around Europe repeatedly and around the pacific rim.
We will be selling 100s of books from his library along with vintage ham radio equipment, astronomy, climatology, meteorology equipment and accessories!!
