John Anthony Walker was a spy for the Soviets from 1967 until 1985 when he was arrested. It started when he was in the Navy and he ultimately also recruited his brother, Arthur Walker who was retired from the Navy by the time John was arrested, and his/John's son, Michael Walker who was still in the Navy at the time of John’s arrest. According to Wikipedia (search John’s name), both John and Arthur died in prison in 2014, while serving multiple life sentences. John struck a plea bargain for his son, Michael, who ended up with only a 25 year sentence and was released in 2000. The above is a quick synopsis of the Walkers’ per wikipedia. The espionage and subsequent trials were national stories at the time about the “family of spies” and it was all done for money. If you google, “michael walker” and “spy”, you will get pages. Michael was in the United States Penitentiary, Lewisburg PA when he drew the picture of the sailboat. It was used on the cover of the Recreation Department’s
