Featuring a unique collection that was assembled in the Golden Age of Baseball by an avid fan.  Our consignor, now 96, spent all of her savings following Baseball in the 1930’s and 1940’s.  Her collection consists of:  1937 World Series tickets the NY Yankees vs. NY Giants Game 1,2, 4 (Lou Gehrigs last World Series homerun), 5, and 1938 World Series tickets NY Yankees vs. Chicago Cubs.  She and her 2 girlfriends were referenced to as the “Dead End Girls” in letters and telegrams sent to her from several Baseball players during this time such as George Selkirk (NY Yankee), Babe Dahlgren (NY Yankees), a Christmas letter sent by “Crash” Davis  (whose career inspired the 1988 movie Bull Durham), a Christmas card from Connie Mack, a letter from Ken Silvestri (Yankees outfielder) from Fort Custer, MI during WWII; a Western Union Telegram from Johnny Murphy (Boston Red Sox/NY Yankees), etc.  These correspondences give you a  very unique and rare insight to the game.  Her collection also features a 1943 World Series champs NY Yankees Team Ball with 26 signatures and a 1947 Boston Red Sox Team Ball with 23 signatures. 

Other items include: August 16, 1954 First issue of Sports Illustrated w/3 pages of foldout Baseball cards intact, Sports 8mm movies, 1000’s of Baseball cards 1950 to present to include Bob (Roberto) Clemente, Roger Maris, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays and Carl Yastremski; also a quantity of Pennants: 1948 World Champion Cleveland Indians, 1949 Detroit Tigers, Defunct Hockey Teams Kansas City Scouts and California Golden Seals.  Sport Magazines 1953-1959, Phillies Official Score Programs 1952-1955 and World Series and NLCS Programs, 1946 Chicago Cubs Program, Vintage Mickey Mantle Baseball glove and others, Vintage Brooks Robinson, Ed Matthews Johnny Bench Baseball bat and others.  There are also vintage Football cards books and ephemera and collectibles including an Occupied Japan leatherhead doll, a Comcast Spectacor Harlem Globetrotters Poster……..  Absolutely too much to list!  Free catalog of items on our website.
