Background on This Sale and the Dryfoos Family

Welcome to the home of June and David Dryfoos. David was the owner of Furniture Village and in his later years he enjoyed picking and collecting various collectibles from sales around the region. He was the son of Leon Dryfoos, noted local radio commentator and antique and coin dealer. Leon was the son of Moses Dryfoos, owner of Mose and Sons Menware on State Street dating back to 1881. You will find evidence of several generations of antiques and collectibles. June loved jewelry and many years of costume jewelry collecting is displayed.Many Asian collectibles and jewelry were acquired by Leon’s sister Mildred during her tours of duty in the Asian Theater in WWII.  Mildred enlisted in the WAC in 1944 and served throughout Europe and Asia including WWII and the Korean War.  She retired as a Master Sargent.
