Contemporary Mountaindale Estate

The Red Door Consignment Gallery is selling the contents of the Powell estate (Mrs. Powell was granddaughter of Governor James - Pennsylvania Governor in 1938).  Profits of the estate will benefit the Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital and WITF Public Television.

The Powells were collectors of quality contemporary art, art glass, Broadway show posters, and sports memorabilia. Items are in immaculate condition, many with certificates of authenticity.
The estate will be open from 2-4 pm Saturday and Sunday.  Some examples are available for viewing at the Red Door Consignment Gallery at 2635 Paxton Street in Harrisburg.  Catalogs are available under "estates" at www.reddoorconsignmentgallery.com.  If you are not satisfied with the asking price, offers may be submitted during the sale and will be submitted to the attorney for potential sale.

Decorative statues in the theatre room include a 19" tall Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, large Kermit the Frog (plays music) and a Beckel Popcorn/Soda metal wall art piece.

WALL ART: Steve Kaufman "I Love Wall Street" limited edition print silkscreen on canvas, Calder "Pinwheel" hand-signed with COA that is over 6' tall (Is signed HC for Hors De Commerce - artists proof), many framed Calder prints, framed first day of issue Calder Stamp on Postcard, many framed contemporary prints, Leroy Neiman signed serigraph limited edition celebrating 100 years of Neon, Seriolithograph by Alexander Chen, "An Evening in times Square", a framed Yaakov Agam (with COA), oil painting signed L. Lundquist, Framed Charles Fazzino 3-D signed limited edition work of the Superbowl XLII- NY Giants vs. the Patriots, framed Broadway Show posters signed by cast members, including Chorus Line, Grease, Mary Poppins, Pajama Game, will Rogers Follies, Drowsy Chaperone, Curtains, Next to Normal, The Producers, Harry Connick, Jr in Concert on Broadway and several Jersey Boys, including framed memorabilia from opening night with the record "Oh What a Night".  Several framed posters of Tony Award Memorabilia.  Framed posters, including Wall Street, Rocky, Celine, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Chicago, and Finding Nemo. Other wall art includes a professionally framed picture that includes both the signing of the Declaration of Independence and a picture of the signing (not antique). Many other pieces of miscellaneous art.

SIGNED SPORTS MEMORABILIA: Recreation room filled with signed sports memorabilia, including a John Leclair autographed framed hockey jersey, many items from various superbowls, including signed helmets (small and large), and many signed footballs, basketballs and baseballs.  Signatures include Reggie Bush, Alex Smith, John Lynch, Mike Schmidt, Pete Rose, Lynn Swann, Bill Walton, Johnny Bench, Johnny Unitas and Mel Blount. Other sports items include a Superbowl XLII framed Panoramic picture, a Philadelphia Phillies Dart Cabinet and Dartboard set, an Eagles wall clock and various baseball World Series memorabilia pieces.  Of special note is a framed autographed Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Speech signed by Harry Kalas (only 5 ever signed to the best of our knowledge). Also some items from various Kentucky Derby's.  Gambling collectibles include a framed piece of 63 collectible casino chips from casinos around the world. 

Furniture and Household: House is completely furnished and all is available for sale, including a complete set of outdoor Brown Jordan Furniture. Game Room includes a Connely Billiard table and MIKL Carpathine 2 in 1 Poker Table with 4 game chairs.  Much of the furniture was purchased from Interiors.  There were no children or pets and furniture is in good condition.  Several sofas include a large round red sectional leather sofa in the living area (American Leather Menlo Park by Rick Lee) and a traditional sofa sofa in the game room.  Stacking curved bookcases that fit around the round red sofa (10, each 42 X 12, 15” high), Swivel Glider Chair in Durosuede, coat rack, bar stools, a parsons sofa table and end tables.  Bedroom sets include a queen Bed set that includes an Armoire, bed stands, and Dresser with mirror and a King Bed set from the Giorgio collection (Made in Italy) of Indian Rosewood (includes night stands, Armoire, dresser).  Glass Four Play Table, Two designer benches by Rick Berry (DIA Island Bench with 2 cushions w/glass insert and a 3-seat bench), two DIA glass end tables and a cocktail table, a glass top 48” round dining table with Pewter Finish with 4 chairs and 2 matching counter height stools (can be sold separately), a gorgeous 7’tall 4-paneled screen, an AXI Contemporary Furniture REID round hallway table in black/red and yellow, a DIA Petal Curio – 42” X 17.5 with 78” h Frame of stainless platinum/chrome with glass, a DIA Grand Rapids Buffet in Stainless Platinum (82 X 19), a Chelsea Extension Dining Table in Platinum-chrome with glass (opens to 104”), 6 DIA Reflex dining chairs in Passion Blue (2 with arms), a DIA Shanghai Entry Console Table in Platinum/Chrome with glass, an American Leather Kendall Sofa in Teakwood Ultra suede (77 X 39), two ultra suede ginger chairs (33 x 39), an Accent BIBI End Table 23.5” diameter w/glass top, Office Desk set-up that includes 2 60” desks, 1 30” desk, 1 corner desk, 2 mobile 3 drawer cabinets and 2 four-square cubes, 3 lateral matching Bush Files, one with glass door above.
